puglia italy RETREAT
YOGA UNDER THE ANCIENT OLIVES OCTOBER 4 11 PUGLIA, ITALY Practice yoga on the white sandy beaches, under olive trees and in the beautiful stone yoga sala at Masseria Le Fabriche, 3 km from the Ionian Sea. Discover the exquisite cuisine, culture, and beauty of Puglia, including two World Hertiage Unesco sites, in this South Italy Yoga holiday! Puglia, also known as Apulia, is the heel of Italy's boot a sunny southern region with Italy's longest coastline (800km) in which two seas meet: the Adriatic to the east, and the Ionian to the south. Geologically speaking the region resembles Croatia the land mass to which it was once joined. The coast alternates between glittering limestone precipices and long emerald beaches. The countryside is rich in olive groves, vineyards and fresh vegetables, and is legendary for it's excellent cuisine and primitivo wines. Puglia's southern mediterranean architecture and culture is quite distinct from other parts of Italy with it's white washed hilltop towns resembling those of it's nearby neighbor, Greece. And the people... well, you will just have to come and experience Puglinese hospitality first-hand!
FLOW OF THE DAY MORNINGS begin with a silent walk through the olive grove for you to savor the tranquility and feel the rejuvenating power of nature. Our yoga practice will start here, in communion with the ancient olive trees, and move into the beautiful arched yoga sala for a more focused Hatha-Vinyasa practice. Following yoga we will enjoy a healthy breakfast/brunch with local ingredients and fresh Italian coffee on the villa s terrace with splendid views of the vineyard and valley beyond. AFTERNOONS can be spent soaking in the sun on the Ionian sea, exploring the beautiful nature of Puglia, or discovering Puglia s fascinating seaside towns and country villages. SIGHT-SEEING will include three organized excursions to explore the romantic medieval white cities of Puglia, and two Unesco World Sites of Matera and Alberobello, with the Trulli stone houses, unique only to this small region in Puglia. EVENINGS are pure magic, as our talented chef and winemakers serve you a healthy and traditional gourmet dinner paired with the organic Primitivo grown in the villa's vinyard (wine is optional of course!) Savor the sumptuous tastes and simple pleasures of good food, good wine and good company! SLEEP will be heavenly in your luxruious suite after a day of nature, yoga, good food and beautiful connection with yourself and with others!
Masseria Le FAbriche Featured in "The Best Masseria's of Puglia", Masseria Le Fabriche, is a 17th-century farmhouse built into the native white rocks that gently slope toward the Ionian sea; a natural refuge where olive trees and vineyards form the landscape, and the scent of sea and the soil merge. The villa has been restored to the highest creative and aesthetic quality. The suites, located between the grapevines and olive trees, have been designed to provide a sensory experience of peace and relaxation, with large windows and terrace that merge the natural beauty of the outdoors with the elegant luxury of the interior. My desire was to build a space where the creativity of human beings merges with the beauty of nature... this is where I started my journey. Alessia Perrucci, winemaker and founder
