Secretary You can read all about Cheryl in this Let s wish our members Happy Birthday Birthdays Jimbo Kelly Jeff Dave - Safety Officer Dave's Safety Tip INDEPENDENT NEWS By Dave Taking Curves Part 1 1. What most novice riders don t realize is that a motorcycle will head in the direc- on that he or she is looking, see the tree or pot hole, hit the tree or pot hole. If the rider turns his/her head however, and looks through the curve then the bike will also go in that direc on. 2. The one thing that you don t want to do when your bike is leaned over is drama cally change your speed. This will upset the balance of the motorcycle and could cause you to loose trac on. 3. Most motorcycles can accelerate, turn, and stop extremely well. They just don t like to do more than one of them at the same me. 4. Believe it or not this is where a good number of inexperienced riders will get into trouble. As a novice rider approaches a turn most will ins nc vely look directly at a sta onary object such as a tree, guard rail, curb etc.. Staring at an object makes the rider feel as if he/she is coming in to fast, in turn causing a panic situa on. Keep the sunny side up and ride safe.

Wrightwood Last Month s Rides Big Oaks Our first ride was a triple header. First we went to Tom s Farm to hang out for awhile going from store to store checking out everything. A er we were ready to leave Mike Ackerman showed us a really cool back way into Hell s Kitchen from Tom s Farm. At Hell s we just decided to have a li le rest stop and have some cold refreshments and look around. Then off to Cook s corner for some lunch and entertainment. This ride is always a crowed pleaser! Our second ride went to Ransburg. A li le town known for dirt bike riding since it s in the middle of no where, LOL. On the way there Rick 2 who led the ride went to a place where everything was made out of bo les. From the pictures it looked like a pre y cool place, thanks R2. Our third ride went to a place called Big Oaks nestled in the canyon of Santa Clarita up on Bouquet Canyon. This is a great hang out if your thirsty and want to go somewhere. The food isn t all that great but it s a nice place to hang out with friends and spend some me talking and watching the bikes go by. Our fourth ride went to a li le town of Wrightwood where people go to do some skiing in the winter. I love this li le place. The ride up there was fun and with al the winding roads. On this trip we had quite a few bikes! When we arrived into Wrightwood, we ate at a place called Mexico Lindo. The food was awesome and the prices were great, and most of all I enjoyed this ride more than anyone, maybe because I won the lunch raffle! LOL
