Here he is receiving his cer ficate of apprecia on and his photographer patch. Thank you Michael. Secretary s Report By Cheryl Hello IRUSA, it is with great pleasure that I will be stepping into the posion of Secretary. I have enjoyed being a Harley passenger for several years now and now have a wonderful boyfriend and group in which to do this almost every weekend. I an originally from the central California area. I moved to Lancaster in 2008 and as of June 2015 now live in Anaheim. I have been a member of IRUSA for a year now and hope to con nue being a member for years to come. We have a lot of exci ng events coming up such as our 3rd annual IRUSA picnic in June and our overnighters to: Hollister, Big Bear, Laughlin, Reno and Pismo Beach. If you have not booked your rooms for these overnighters please do so soon as they are a lot of fun. Also don t forget to reserve your spot at the picnic, cost $5, for all the fun, games and food. At last month's mee ng Jodi reminded us to use the group s Facebook page to click going, maybe or not going on the rides to keep as accurate a count as possible. Also our camera bug Michael Ackerman became our club s official photographer. Un l next month!!! Ride safe!! Congratula ons!!!

PAGE 2 Founders Corner By Rick & Jodi months newsle er on page one under Rick & Jodi - Founders Jodi and I are so happy to have Cheryl as our new Secretary! Cheryl and Mike are at 99.9% of all of our General Mee ngs and club rides. With all of Cheryl s back ground being a teacher and correc ng my spelling on emails and our newsle er, I am so posi ve that she will be great as our new Secretary! Secretary s Report Congratula ons and welcome to the team! Secretary You can read all about Cheryl in this Let s wish our members Happy Birthday Birthdays Jimbo Kelly Jeff Dave - Safety Officer Dave's Safety Tip INDEPENDENT NEWS By Dave Taking Curves Part 1 1. What most novice riders don t realize is that a motorcycle will head in the direc- on that he or she is looking, see the tree or pot hole, hit the tree or pot hole. If the rider turns his/her head however, and looks through the curve then the bike will also go in that direc on. 2. The one thing that you don t want to do when your bike is leaned over is drama cally change your speed. This will upset the balance of the motorcycle and could cause you to loose trac on. 3. Most motorcycles can accelerate, turn, and stop extremely well. They just don t like to do more than one of them at the same me. 4. Believe it or not this is where a good number of inexperienced riders will get into trouble. As a novice rider approaches a turn most will ins nc vely look directly at a sta onary object such as a tree, guard rail, curb etc.. Staring at an object makes the rider feel as if he/she is coming in to fast, in turn causing a panic situa on. Keep the sunny side up and ride safe.

Winners Circle Jodi s PAGE 3 Trivia & Fun Facts Did you know.triumph owner John Bloor was successful in Real Estate before producing motorcycles. Mike Congrats to Mike Ackerman. If anyone needs to win the gas card its Mike! He rides 50 miles before he even gets to an IRUSA ride! This guy loves to ride! Gail Gail drew the lucky 50/50 cket! Who doesn t love winning some cash! Congratula- ons Gail! Rick Put in a dollar and win a handful of cash! Congratula- on to Rick 3 our lucky lunch drawing winner. Which is the worlds biggest helmet manufacturer? HJC, KBC, Aria, or Bell? Answer: HJC Today s Ride By Rick Today s ride will be ending up at a place called The Meat Locker in Thousand Oaks. Rich Maza will be leading us through the Malibu Mountains and along the ocean on PCH. If you love meat and BBQ, your going to enjoy lunch today! Ribs, Pulled pork, Tri -Tip, chili beans, coleslaw, and potato salad and much more. Can t wait! Rich is known for his routes having a few miles to his des na ons, so be prepared for a beau ful scenic ride to the Meat Locker. Thank you Rich! Wrightwood Last Month s Rides Big Oaks Our first ride was a triple header. First we went to Tom s Farm to hang out for awhile going from store to store checking out everything. A er we were ready to leave Mike Ackerman showed us a really cool back way into Hell s Kitchen from Tom s Farm. At Hell s we just decided to have a li le rest stop and have some cold refreshments and look around. Then off to Cook s corner for some lunch and entertainment. This ride is always a crowed pleaser! Our second ride went to Ransburg. A li le town known for dirt bike riding since it s in the middle of no where, LOL. On the way there Rick 2 who led the ride went to a place where everything was made out of bo les. From the pictures it looked like a pre y cool place, thanks R2. Our third ride went to a place called Big Oaks nestled in the canyon of Santa Clarita up on Bouquet Canyon. This is a great hang out if your thirsty and want to go somewhere. The food isn t all that great but it s a nice place to hang out with friends and spend some me talking and watching the bikes go by. Our fourth ride went to a li le town of Wrightwood where people go to do some skiing in the winter. I love this li le place. The ride up there was fun and with al the winding roads. On this trip we had quite a few bikes! When we arrived into Wrightwood, we ate at a place called Mexico Lindo. The food was awesome and the prices were great, and most of all I enjoyed this ride more than anyone, maybe because I won the lunch raffle! LOL
