Had a good meeting and "Thanks" to Jimmy George for planning the drive to the Winery in Blaine. We had a very good time; Spout Springs Estates Farm Winery is a beautiful place. The owners, Chuck and Alice Belt, are very lovely people, just down home folks. Sorry you missed it!! "PLEASE NOTE" Next MEETING will be held on Monday, July 21st, 6 P.M. @ Angelo s at the Point. I requested the meeting room, they said it would be reserved for us, but I certainly will verify a few days before and also I will need a head count. More details on that a little later. Membership and Board Meeting and Winery Tour Photos by Cyrus Taft and Gerry Mitchell The SMJC reurned to one of it favorite meeting places for our last meeting. Puleo s Grille on Strawberry Plains Pike was the scene on Saturday for the Membership and Board meeting. Gail Amanns led the discussion while we waited for our food to arrive which was excellent as usual. When the food arrived, Gail hit the pause button but some lively conversation ensued. After lunch, Jimmy George described the trip to the winery which he had arranged for immediately following the meeting. Spout Springs Estates Winery is in Blaine about 30 minutes from Puleo s. The owner s Chuck and Alice Belt were looking forward to our visit. Jimmy lead the group to the winery. Beautiful XJ at Puleo s Grille. A break in the meeting for lunch. Springtime in the Smokies Article by Gary Cobble and Photos by Gary Cobble and Gerry Mitchell The 27th Springtime in the Smokies /A Gathering of British & European Cars and Motorcycles took place on the grounds of the Talley Ho Inn in Townsend on Friday and Saturday, May 9 and 10, 2014. The format for this year was expanded from all of the previous events with the addition of European marques. The Blount British Cars was joined by the English Auto Society to organize this year s Event. Approximately 75 cars and motorcycles gathered on the grounds for a really nice weekend. The Smoky Mountain Jaguar Club members participating were as follows: Gerry Mitchell, Jaguar V12 2+2, Trophy Gary Cobble, Jaguar V12 Roadster, Trophy John and Barbara Rigby, Citroen, Trophy Richard Lockhart, Citroen, Trophy Peter Davis, MG PA, Trophy Gary Moss, Classic MINI Chris and Michelle Schoening, 2 Jaguar XJS Convertibles, Trophy Jim & Diane DeRopp, Jaguar XK and Jaguar XJ Modified, Trophy Ben Bailey, VW Friday night, everyone gathered under the main tent for food, drink, and hospitality. Saturday, the Car Show had Popular Voting, many Vendors, and good food. The net proceeds will be going to a Charity that has not yet been announced. Congratulations to the BBC & EAS for a job well done!!! A lovely setting for a car show. Cute, but what is it? Diane de Ropp displays her gorgeous XK. That red Series 3 really gets around. 5

DRIVE-YOUR-BRITISH-CAR-WEEK GATHERING Jane Ogle reported that this year s annual Drive-Your- British-Car-Week Gathering will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2014, from 5:30 to 7:00 pm at Gourmet & Co., Johnson City. Ben and Natalie Bailey sponsored this event for its first ten years but now it is an official SMJCsponsored event. Ben Bailey and C.C. Goodson are the contact persons. Dinner at Gourmet & Co. will be at 7:00 pm and requires reservations to assure seating. UPCOMING EVENTS Event Coordinator Jimmy George announced that there will be an approximately 30-mile drive including a winery tour and wine tasting after today s meeting. This is at the Spout Spring Estates Farm Winery, at Blaine, Tennessee, owned by Chuck & Alice Belt. This is the only event actually scheduled so far. Jimmy also said he s working on other club events such as a trip to the Barter Theater in Abingdon, Virginia, to include a backstage behind-the-scenes tour on a Saturday or Sunday separate from the regular meeting. CONCOURS d ELEGANCE COMMITTEE MEETING Concours Chairman, Gary Cobble, was unable to be present at today s meeting. President Gail announce that there will be a meeting of the Concours Committee at the General Morgan Inn, in Greeneville, at 9:30 am on Wednesday, June 25. JUDGES TRAINING President Gail also announced that this year s Judges Training session will be held on Saturday, August 23, at the American Cancer Society Building on Weisgarber Road in Knoxville, from 9:00 am until approximately 1:00 pm and lunch will be provided for the attendees. ANNUAL MEETING AND DINNER The members present expressed a preference for the Rarity Bay Country Club at Vonore where we ve had previous annual meetings. President Gail said she d check with the facility with the goal of having this year s annual meeting there the first week in December. NEXT MEETING Our next meeting will be scheduled for Angelo s At The Point in Dandridge on Monday, July 21, at 6:00 pm, if space is available for that time. Members present expressed a preference for this location and time for regular meetings. The meeting was adjourned at 1:00 pm.

Awards will be given for the top three finishers in each Class and will be presented at the awards banquet.
