Jeff Robbins Hello Chapter members!!! It's only been four months into 2016 and its been very active already! We still have many more fun offerings to come! Bike nights, Burger Burns, Tub Run, Camden Poker Run, and some awesome rides that Phil Welch has planned for this riding season! Hope to see everyone out and riding this season! Earlier this month we sent out an email asking if there was any interest from any of our members in the Membership Officer position. We received a few names. I would like to say thank you to everyone that put their name in for the position. It meant a great deal to us. We appreciate your support as a member and as a fellow rider! At our last officers meeting we took a vote. Sandy Horner was voted our new Membership Officer! Thank you Sandy! The next time you see Sandy introduce yourselves and say hello! Have a great May and see you all on the road!!! Jeff Sarah Harris Happy Spring HOG members! Thank you to everybody who came to the last meeting, and thank you to all the volunteers for the hard work that you do. A big thank you goes out to the employees for attending our chapter meeting, it s nice to see you all. Congrats to Brandon and Rod at s on their recent promotions. HOG members We are offering a potentially lifesaving little item exclusively for you! The I.C.E. (In Case of Emergency) HOG tag. The tag has your vital emergency contact and critical medical information printed on the back, and the face proudly displays our HOG Chapter logo. This must have tag can be a lifesaver. Most of us have our information on our cell phone, however if your phone is damaged or lost this tag will inform emergency personnel of any medical needs and your contact information. The HOG Tags will be offered to our members at an exclusive discount of 35% off the normal selling price. HOG member special price of $20 for one or $35 for two identical tag or a partner pair (husband/wife). Additionally $1 per tag will be donated to the MDA Tub Run! Additionally, Tom of ICE dog tag.com is providing a ICE Dog Tag as a raffle prize for the Tub Run. Check your weekly HOG chapter E-mail Blast for complete details and ordering information. About Us History of Credo : One day just a couple of years back, I was riding my motorcycle along the barren, unforgiving U.S. Desert Southwest highways between Gila Bend, AZ, and San Diego, CA, when I realized that if I crashed along the way, it would take first-responders precious time to identify me and to figure out who to contact with any questions or news. I decided I needed SOMETHING to tell my story to the medics, in the event I couldn t tell them myself. And so, Icedogtag.com was born. Laser-etching personal information onto the back of a wearable piece of gear (and making the product available to everyone, for any reason), made all the sense in the world. Since first-responders, are trained to look for clues which will allow them to care for their patients, ICEDogTag is a gold mine of information for them. Then, it occurred to me that everyone should have a tag from school children to motocross racers, or rock climbers to those suffering from dementia. It s simple. On one side of the tag, the HOG Chapter logo will be laser-etched, and on the other, all of the potentially life-saving data you choose to share. Order Yours Now! Technical Details: The tags are 2 (top to bottom) x 1-1/8 (side to side) and stamped from 1/32 -thick aluminum, the same size as government-issue military dog tags. What is included? Base Package: Custom Tag with 24 chrome chain, shipped worldwide. Upgrade Package: Custom Tag with Ceramic Coated black chain, rubber silencer/protector, shipped worldwide. The price of the tag includes shipping anywhere in the world. Who are we? A U.S. company founded and directed by a proud U.S. Navy Veteran. Production time from receipt of your completed order until the time it ships to you is 2-3 weeks. There is no information on the tag which would compromise the security of your financial identity. Yay! Riding weather is finally here. How bout that? Thanks for coming to the HOG meeting on Thursday night. We had a great turn out. I passed around a photo album of the past couple of meetings for those of you that don t have Facebook or Internet. I hope you enjoyed looking at them. We still have calendars for sale with the events through the end of the year listed. Only $10 to look at the nice photos, and have the events listed at a glance. Our website is up and running, but there aren t any photos on there yet. I m not sure Laura Farnsworth when I ll get to that, but stay tuned. Just another reminder that we d like as full a crew for the HOG chapter photo on the 21 st. Show us your pretty faces and support the Ladies of Harley for putting on a fine breakfast that day. The Swap meet is this weekend. Stop on out. I have a booth as do several other people. Good deals and fun times with Boxcars serving food and there will be a bake sale and a bar too. Also, I challenge the women of the chapter to sign up for the mileage contest. It isn t that hard and you may just win a rear tire. You can t win if you don t sign up. Historian bit: I have now acquired just about everything that was stored at from the old South Central HOG chapter. I may need some help identifying some of the folks in these photos. I plan to scan a lot of the things we already have and there is also a place on our new website for the to upload these for your viewing pleasure, and entertainment. Moving forward, I may burn these to DVD and have them for sale at an affordable price for those of you that might be interested in having the history at your fingertips. Joe Bucknell Website is up boardtrackerhog.com work is still being done on it. ... a refreshing blast from the past with plenty of new stuff to keep it on the leading edge. Harley - Davidson Motor Company Harley Owners Group News and Information It s new, but it looks oh, so familiar in all the right ways. Lean and powerful. Strippeddown. Bobbed fenders. Low-rise handlebars. Aggressive riding position. Even the modern cast wheels are built to evoke the spoked wheels of days gone by. At first glance, the 2016 Harley-Davidson Roadster motorcycle is full-throated, no-nonsense throwback, evoking the high-performing Sportster models of the 1950s and 60s. On closer inspection, it s a thoroughly modern, high-performance ride. Leading the way are 43mm inverted single-cartridge forks with tri-rate springs. Pulling up the rear are gas-charged emulsion coil-over shocks and tri-rate springs with adjustable pre-load. Dual 11.8-inch floating front brake rotors provide phenomenal stopping power. Performance-tuned 1200cc Evolution engine. The Motor Company even collaborated with Dunlop to create new Dunlop GT502 radial tires for optimal handling and performance. Yes, the H-D Roadster is everything you ve always loved about the Sportster platform a refreshing blast from the past with plenty of new stuff to keep it on the leading edge. In honor of this evolutionary new motorcycle, it s fitting to pay tribute to just a few of the Sportster models that helped pave the way to its arrival. Page 9
