From the Director Our Director Ken is recovering from a surgery and is unable to post a Director s letter this month. Let s hope for a speedy recovery for Ken and hopefully he ll be back with us riding again before too long. Get well soon Ken- from all of us at Indianhead HOG. Welcome to the Family!

Open House Thank you from Sport Motors From all of us at Sport Motors Harley-Davidson, thank you to all of the chapter members that attended and participated in our 2016 Open House and Demo Days Events, on May 19-20-21. The weather was beautiful!!! There were many test rides completed, with the Tri-Glide Ultra, Street Glide Special, and Heritage Classic models in particular. Thanks to Julie Barnett for all of her help with serving the food for our HOG Thursday night event, and her delicious pasta salad, and home-baked cookies. Thanks to Chef Matt for grilling the burgers nicely! And thank you to the HOG Chapter Members & Officers, for their help on Saturday, with the HOG Brat Tent and Bake Sale, for the Chapter Charity Fund. Thanks to the many riders for participating in the strut your stuff bike display, each bike special and personalized uniquely. Thanks to Missy, Marie & Sara for strutting their stuff during the fashion show. Thank you all! A special thank you to Jody and Luke, for preparing for the events, and making things fun. Great Job!! And thanks to Matt for doing a nice job of taking the pie in the face! We hope to see many of you on September 10th, 2016 for our Fall Harley Open House to support United Cerebral Palsy, with the UCP Raffle Drawing for a New 2016 Street Glide! Roy Gotter From the Safety Officer With our ride season just starting out, please review the hand signals and rider protocol in this newsletter. Let s all do our part to maintain the years of safe riding our club has had and continue that into this season. Our club has adopted the ALCOHOL FREE policy, which means no alcohol should be consumed by any rider prior to our ride or during a club sponsored ride. This means don t drink before or during our Wednesday Nite rides. The club ride is from the time we line up until the time we reach our destination (the restaurant). Once we get to the restaurant, the club ride is over. It is the choice of each rider to determine whether or not they want to have an alcoholic beverage with their meal. Leaving the event site is not part of a club sponsored activity. While we ride in a staggered formation, each rider should try to stay in their own lane (even when going through a corner). The reason we ride staggered is to allow for use of the other lane in the event of an obstacle or emergency. THERE IS NO SIDE BY SIDE RIDING ALLOWED DURING ANY CLUB RIDE. NO passing is allowed during the rides due to our Chapter s insurance with HOG. My riding motto is the group is only as safe as each individual rider. Even within a group ride, each rider must ride their own bike at their own comfort level. For the month of MAY let s increase the gap to 2+ seconds as we may be a little rusty to group riding. This increased reaction time is just Safer. Remember we are all here to RIDE and have FUN, so let s do it safely. Ride Safe Jay Gebert, Safety Officer WI HOG Rally info: The WI State HOG Rally is set for September 1st-3rd in Milwaukee. More info can be found at mnwhog.com.
