2014 Lasseters Easter in the Alice Mountain Bike Muster event schedule Pre-race registration Friday, 18 April Registrations will take place in the Juicy Rump (at Lasseters Hotel Casino). The Juicy Rump is to be a key event venue for the 2014 Lasseters Easter in the Alice. Riders and spectators are welcome to use the Juicy Rump as a base between and (for spectators) during stages. It is a good place to meet other people involved in the event. Pre-race registration 1500 1700 Riders to complete their registration and collect a rego pack at the Juicy Rump. Day One Saturday, 19 April Today s stages will start in front of the Alice Springs Convention Centre (at Lasseters Hotel Casino) and finish in the MacDonnell Room, which is inside the Convention Centre. Riders and spectators are welcome to chill out and/or fuel up at the Juicy Rump before, during and after today s race stages. Stage 1 25km, race start: 8am 0800 Leave from the Alice Springs Convention Centre (which is part of Lasseters Hotel Casino). Riders to set off at 1 minute intervals, and finish in the MacDonnell Room, in the Alice Springs Convention Centre. 1100 Last riders expected back. Stage 2 is a night race. There will be entertainment for spectators too, with a night market and live music at the finish line, in the MacDonnell Room (in the Alice Springs Convention Centre, at Lasseters Hotel Casino) from 6pm. Food and drink available at the Juicy Rump, also at Lassters Hotel Casino. 1800 Night market in the MacDonnell Room, with live music and stalls, etc. Food and drink on sale at the Juicy Rump. 1900 Stage 3 starts. The start line is at Alice Springs Convention Centre. Stage 3 s finish line is inside the MacDonnell Room, in the Alice Springs Convention Centre. 2200 Last riders expected back. Day 2 Sunday, 20 April (Easter Sunday) Stage 3 starts and finishes on the lawns in front of the Juicy Rump, at Lasseters Hotel Casino. Spectators and supporters are welcome to chill out at the Juicy Rump as they wait for the riders to finish Stage 3. There will be live music at the Juicy Rump from noon onwards. The Dusty Demons Easter Sunday Kids Ride will be run from the Alice Springs Telegraph Station Historical Reserve after the adult riders in Stage 3 have ridden through the Telegraph Station, at 8.30am. All kids are welcome to participate in the Dusty Demons Easter Sunday Kids Ride. Entry by gold coin on the day. Stage 3 50km, race start: 8am 0800 Stage 3 begins with a rolling start, leaving from the Juicy Rump. Finish line is on the lawns of the Juicy Rump. 0830 Riders pass through the Telegraph Station. After 0830 The Dusty Demons Easter Sunday Kids Ride, at the Telegraph Station. Gold coin entry. 1200 Live music at the Juicy Rump for spectators and supporters. 1330 Last riders expected back. Day 3 Monday, 21 April (Easter Monday) Stage 4 is the long stage, and riders will start and finish this stage on the lawns in front of the Juicy Rump. Spectators are welcome to chill out at the Juicy Rump as they wait for the riders to finish there will be live entertainment at the Juicy Rump from 6pm. The event presentation will be held on the deck of the Juicy Rump from 7pm. Stage 4 80km, start time: 6.30am 0630 Stage 4 Leaves from Juicy Rump. Finish line is on the lawns of the Juicy Rump. 0700 Riders pass through Desert Park. 1700 Last riders expected back. 1800 Live music at the Juicy Rump. 1900 Presentation dinner on the deck at the Juicy Rump. 2014 Event locations Lasseters Hotel Casino (the main event venue for the 2014 Lasseters Easter in the Alice) is at 93 Barrett Drive, on the eastern side of the Todd River riverbed. Lasseters is about 2.5km from the centre of town in Alice Springs, within easy biking and walking distance of town, and has a selection of restaurants, cafes and bars, and good car parking. Stage venues and start/finish lines at Lasseters Hotel Casino include: The Juicy Rump Alice Springs Convention Centre The MacDonnell Room (in the Alice Springs Convention Centre, which is part of Lasseters Hotel Casino) To get to Lasseters, starting at Todd Mall (the main street / pedestrian mall in Alice Springs): Head south-east on Gregory Terrace Turn right at the roundabout, taking the second exit onto Leichhardt Terrace Go straight through the next roundabout Turn left onto Tuncks Road and follow over the riverbed. Take your first right on to Barrett Drive. Follow this road until you see Lasseters on the left. Alice Springs Desert Park is on Larapinta Drive, 7km west of town, within easy riding distance of town. http://www.alicespringsdesertpark.com.au/plan/howtogethe re.shtml Alice Springs Telegraph Station Historical Reserve is 4km north on the northern Stuart Highway. If you want to walk or bike to the Telegraph Station, you can use the shared path along Schwarz Crescent and along the Todd River riverbed.
