The Camino de Santiago from Sarria to Santiago de Compostela which is known as the French Way is a beautiful walk as it passses through medieval woodland, forests of beech, oak, pines and chestnut as well as small hamlets/towns with granite stone buildings and farms. So it's often easy on the feet on footpaths off-road and with little traffic passing the genteel country lanes. You'll get to appreciate the typical architecture of the region : stone-built country houses (pazos), and corn crib stores elevated about the ground to keep the corn away from the damp and rodents (horreos). Victor, our driver, was superb. He took care of whatever we needed and made sure we were safe and got to our hotels on time. The accommodations were wonderful. We enjoyed the variety, the quaintness, and great service. We truly enjoyed every aspect of our trip. The afternoon tour of Finnesterre was the perfect ending, and we were happy we included it. Our tour guide in Santiago was also terrific. The restaurant in Santiago was also top notch, and the staff was superb, and spoke English. Thanks again, and please let us know if we can help other prospective clients as we are happy to recommend you and the trip.
