INTRODUCTION THE FARMSTEAD is a wonderful new safari lodge at Royal Malewane which will open on 1 June 2019. It is just a 12 minute drive south of the existing lodge. The Farmstead typifies rustic luxury with the highest levels of service and fine cuisine synonymous with The Royal Portfolio. The Farmstead overlooks a watering hole popular with the abundant wildlife with seemingly endless views over the canopies of the Greater Kruger National Park. Light oak, tin rooves, wrought iron, original artwork and gentle hues of blue and white define the style with Royal Blue, Indigo and Turquoise patterns adorning the fabrics of the comfy sofas on wide verandas that echo a bygone era where time moved slowly and days evolved with the natural rhythm of the African wilderness.

ROOM DESCRIPTIONS LUXURY FARM SUITES There are three Luxury Farm Suites. Each has a spacious bedroom and an en-suite bathroom with a bath and a shower, as well as an outdoor shower. There are large front and back verandas as well as a beautiful deck and a private pool overlooking the bush where animals roam freely. Each Luxury Farm Suite is 66 square meters (645 square feet). Children over 10 are welcome in the Luxury Farm Suites. THE FARMHOUSE The Farmhouse is a three and a half bedroom private villa which is ideal for families or a group of friends. Like Africa House and the Royal Suites, The Farmhouse has its own private services including a chef, housekeeper and butler. Guests will have their own private safari vehicle with a dedicated Ranger and Tracker ensuring the ultimate in luxury. There are three main bedrooms which are each 45 square meters (480 square feet) as well as a children s room which is 31 square meters (330 square feet). There is a magnificent deck with a large swimming pool flowing out into the bush. The total area of The Farmhouse is 290 square metres (3122 square feet) excluding the vast verandas and deck. Children of all ages are welcome in The Farmhouse.
ROOM DESCRIPTIONS MAIN LODGE AREA The Main Lodge area at The Farmstead is an elegant and comfortable space for guests to relax and enjoy breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner - there is also a lovely bar. After dinner guests can relax around the sunken fire pit. Guests may enjoy a variety of spa treatments in the double treatment room or exercise in the gym. *All rooms have Super King Size beds which can be split into two three quarter size beds with the exception of Luxury Farm Suite 1. The children s bedroom in The Farmhouse has two three quarter size beds. *All rooms have air-conditioning and ceiling fans. All bathrooms have underfloor heating as well as an outdoor shower.
COMMUNITY The Farmstead is part of broader project to uplift local communities. Royal Malewane agreed to lease the land from the local Moletele community, paying a monthly rental to the community as well as a share of revenue as additional income. At the end of the long lease all buildings and the land will revert to the community. Throughout the lease, The Royal Portfolio will employ members of the local community and train them to the highest Royal Portfolio standards while also involving the local community in conservation efforts to preserve our precious wildlife thereby securing the long term future of tourism to South Africa.
