This section presents statistics related to transportation in the Genesee- Finger Lakes Region, including data on transportation options available to the Region s residents, number of vehicles, commuting patterns, accidents, freight, and boating. The Genesee-Finger Lakes Region has a rich transportation history dating back to the Iroquois trails and the Erie and -Cayuga Canals. Today, a network of state and federal highways and local roads, commercial air service, passenger rail service, and ferry service are available to the Region s residents and industries. In addition, manufacturers and suppliers have access to rail and air freight services. These transportation options facilitate travel within the Region and to destinations within other parts of New York State, the nation, and the world. The following maps, tables, and charts for the Genesee-Finger Lakes Region depict: Transit Routes - 2004 Public Transit Service - 1990, 1995, 2000 & 2002 Means of Transportation to Work - 1990 & 2000 Major Transportation Facilities - 2004 Java Ridgeway Shelby Alabama Pembroke Darien Bennington Sheldon Arcade Yates 0 5 10 Miles 0 5 10 Kilometers ORLEANS Barre GENESEE Batavia Attica Elba WYOMING Eagle Gaines Oakfield Alexander Orangeville Carlton Pike Albion Bethany Middlebury Warsaw Gainesville Wethersfield Kendall Murray Clarendon Byron Stafford Perry Genesee Falls Pavilion Covington Castile Portage Bergen LeRoy Journey-to-Work (Counties) - 1980, 1990 & 2000 Journey-to-Work (Cities) - 2000 Journey-to-Work Traffic Flows - 2000 Hamlin Clarkson Sweden York Leicester Mount Morris Nunda Riga Transit Routes (2004) Parma Ogden Wheatland MONROE Caledonia Geneseo Groveland Chili Avon Greece Rush LIVINGSTON West Sparta Ossian Gates Sparta North Dansville Lima Livonia Conesus Rochester Henrietta Brighton Irondequoit Pittsford Mendon West Bloomfield Richmond Canadice Springwater Webster Penfield Perinton Victor East Bloomfield Bristol South Bristol Naples Ontario Walworth Macedon Farmington Canandaigua ONTARIO Middlesex Italy Gorham Average Travel Time to Work - 2000 Vehicle Registrations - 2000 & 2001 Motor Vehicle Accidents - 2000 Freight Movement - 1998 Williamson Marion Palmyra Manchester Hopewell Potter YATES Jerusalem Regional Transit Service Batavia Bus Service County Area Transit System of Ontario County Livingston Area Transportation Service Orleans Transit Service Transit Service Wayne Area Transportation Service Wyoming Transportation Service Sodus WAYNE Arcadia Phelps Benton Barrington Lyons Geneva Milo Torrey Starkey Huron Rose Galen Junius Waterloo Fayette SENECA Varick Lodi Tyre Romulus Ovid Wolcott Butler Savannah Covert Falls Sources: Rochester-Genesee Regional Transportation Authority Ontario County Transportation Office Marine Law Enforcement - 2001 Boating Vessel Registrations - 2001 Boating Accidents - 2001 59
