DAY 1 LONDON Arrive in London Take a panorama tour of London by coach see Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament at Westminster, Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, Westminster Abbey, St Paul s Cathedral, the Tower of London and Tower Bridge Check in to your hotel and relax for the evening 3
DAY 2 LONDON Visit the Royal Ballet at Covent Garden Meet Australian-born Alexander Campbell *, who is Principal with the Royal Ballet followed by an orientation Take a backstage tour of the Royal Opera House Covent Garden In the late afternoon or evening take a ride on the London Eye *or another member of the company if Alexander is unavailable 4
DAY 3 LONDON Return to Covent Garden to experience an open rehearsal of the Royal Ballet (if available) The afternoon is at leisure to experience London. Suggestions include a guided tour of the Tower of London, a River Thames cruise or evensong at Westminster Abbey or St Paul s Cathedral In the evening see a West End musical 5
DAY 4 LONDON In the morning take a workshop, with the *English National Ballet, the Royal Academy of Dance or the London Ballet Company. The afternoon is free for you to experience more of London In the evening see a performance by the Royal Ballet at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden * If your workshop is at the English National Ballet, it is possible to meet Australian-born Alison McWhinney who is First Soloist with that company (if available) 6
DAY 5 LONDON - BIRMINGHAM Check out from your hotel and travel to Birmingham En route stop at Oxford for lunch, with a stroll through the old town and a visit to Christ Church Continue to Coventry for a guided tour of the old cathedral ruins and the new cathedral Finish in Birmingham and check in at your hotel 7
DAY 6 BIRMINGHAM The day is free to explore the city In the evening attend a performance of the Birmingham Royal Ballet 8
DAY 7 BIRMINGHAM - WELLS Check out from your hotel and travel to Wells En route you might choose to stop at Stratford-upon-Avon to visit Shakespeare s birthplace, or drive through the Cotswolds to enjoy some quaint English villages like Bourton-on-the Water or Stow-on-the-Wold Arrive in Wells and check in at your hotel. 9
DAY 8 WELLS Take a day trip starting with Wells Cathedral and the Bishop s Palace before going on to the ancient ruins of Glastonbury Abbey and the historic city of Bath 10
DAY 9 WELLS LONDON - PARIS Check out from your hotel and transfer to London En route you might like to see the Magna Carta at Salisbury Cathedral, visit Stonehenge, or see HMS Victory and the Mary Rose at the historic dockyards at Portsmouth Arrive at St Pancras International Station and take an evening Eurostar high-speed train to Paris Check in at your hotel 11
DAY 10 PARIS Take a panorama tour of Paris see Notre Dame, Sacre Coeur, the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triumph In the afternoon you might like to visit the Louvre or Pompidou Centre, take a cruise on the Seine or a Backstage tour of the Palais Garnier The evening is at leisure in the City of Light 12
