Wharf Works 1. Mariners are advised that construction work is underway in the vicinity of the Multi Purpose Wharf until December 2018. 2. Mariners are advised to keep well clear of the area and to contact Harbour Control on VHF channel 14 for updates on water craft activity at the construction site. 3. The fixed green (neon) light at the north east corner of the existing wharf (45 48.58S.,170 37.67E.) has been temporarily removed. 4. Charting action will take place in due course. Geotechnical Investigation Works 1. From 3 September 2018 until further notice, geotechnical investigation works will be undertaken in the Tauranga Harbour between Stella Passage and the Harbour Bridge. 2. The works will be conducted from a barge which will maintain a listening watch on VHF channels 12, 14 and 16 and display appropriate aids to navigation markings during operations. 3. Mariners are advised to exercise caution when navigating in the area. A recent survey (2018) in the vicinity of Nuku'alofa Harbour indicates numerous changes to charted features and depths. The most significant depth is: 21 02'.56S., 175 12'.70W. 5.9 Feature 3. NZ 140(T)/18 NEW ZEALAND - South Island - East Coast - Lyttelton Harbour/Whakaraupō. Aids to Navigation Works 1. Until further notice, aids to navigation installation works are underway within Lyttelton Harbour. 2. The works will be undertaken by a crane mounted on the barge Geronimo with attendant tug Rosco (call sign ZMF7771). 3. During the works and repositioning, the barge will be restricted in its ability to manoeuvre. Mariners are advised to maintain a minimum closest approach and no wake zone of 200m from the barge. 4. All vessels will maintain a listening watch on VHF channel 12 and 16. 5. Mariners are advised to exercise caution when navigating in the area. Chart temporarily affected: NZ 6321 Lyttelton Port Company HITS 6321/187 NZ 144(P)/18 ANTARCTICA - Ross Sea - Ross Island - West Coast - Cape Royds to McMurdo Station. s 1. Surveys (2016, 2018) in the vicinities of Cape Royds and McMurdo Station indicate numerous changes to charted features and depths. The most significant depth is: 77 33'.64S., 166 12'.52E. 2.3 m Feature 3. Charting action will take place in due course. Charts affected: NZ 14901 (INT 9001), NZ 14902 (INT 9002) United Kingdom Hydrographic Office HITS 14901/6 NZ 151(T)/18 NEW ZEALAND - North Island - East Coast - Auckland - Commercial Harbour - Viaduct Basin. Dredging and Marina Operations 1. Until further notice, dredging and marina operations are underway in the approaches to and within Viaduct Basin. 2. Mariners are advised to remain clear of the operations and must contact Viaduct Control via VHF channel 73 if access is required to get to/from Inner Viaduct Basin. 3. All marine operations will occur between 0700-2200 hours every day and the project has a 24/7 contact number - 0800 WYNYARD. 4. Mariners are advised to exercise caution when navigating in the area. NZ 152(P)/18 NEW ZEALAND - South Island - East Coast - Lyttelton Harbour/Whakaraupō. Spoil Grounds, Pilot Boarding Points, Anchorages, Dredged Channel and Works in Progress 1. Former Notice NZ 124(T)/18 is cancelled. 2. Mariners are advised that various works are underway in the approaches to and within Lyttelton Harbour/Whakaraupō. The most significant changes are: 3. Two spoil grounds have been established bounded by the following positions: a. 43 32.30S., 172 53.25E. b. 43 33.91S., 172 56.23E. c. 43 34.99S., 172 55.13E. d. 43 33.38S., 172 52.14E. e. 43 34.26S., 172 49.67E. f. 43 33.83S., 172 50.69E. g. 43 34.58S., 172 51.29E. h. 43 35.01S., 172 50.26E. 4. Pilot boarding points have been established in the following positions: A 43 34.70S., 172 51.72E. B 43 34.91S., 172 51.22E. 5. Anchorage in position 43 34.19S., 172 49.95E. will be disestablished 1 January 2019. Mariners are now advised to use the quarantine anchorage in position 43 33.00S., 172 50.00E. 6. Newly dredged channel with least depth 13.3m has been established within the following co-ordinates: a. 43 35.71S., 172 49.34E. b. 43 36.30S., 172 47.87E. c. 43 36.75S., 172 44.15E. d. 43 36.78S., 172 42.93E. e. 43 36.67S., 172 42.93E. f. 43 36.66S., 172 43.93E. g. 43 36.25S., 172 47.40E. h. 43 35.62S., 172 49.27E. 7. Construction work is underway in the vicinity of Z-berth. A temporary exclusion zone has been established within the following co-ordinates: a. 43 36.55S., 172 43.05E. b. 43 36.60S., 172 43.03E. c. 43 36.63S., 172 43.17E. d. 43 36.62S., 172 43.33E. e. 43 36.59S., 172 43.33E. 8.
