Afterschool & Intersession Day Camp Our day camp focuses on activities and games that create a sense of community, enable our campers to make new friends and fond memories. Our General and Specialty Counselors will provide opportunities for campers to experience the outdoors in fun & engaging activities designed to challenge the mind, body & spirit. At New Hope children will make lasting friendships, play in nature, create, build, jump, run, explore, pretend, relax and unwind. Our staff will also provide homework time & yummy nutritious after school snacks. Our themed intersession weeks during the year are a great place for children to use their imagination and help create activities outside while enjoying our wonderful outdoor facilities. Summer Day Camp For Rising 7th - 9th Frequently Asked Questions New Hope Camp is establishing a new program for our rising 7th 9th graders this summer! Our counselors and mentors will model a relaxed and social atmosphere where campers can learn more about their personal gifts, how to contribute to the larger group and community and develop relational skills to carry into the coming school year. Your campers will enjoy our traditional day camp activities in a free choice format, so that our middle school campers are able to create their own program and pick the activities that they would like to try. Some free choice programs include off site trips, outdoor survival, hiking, or developing games for our younger campers. Fun Friday planning is always on the agenda! Our free choice activities can be week long or a daily choice. We are excited about our new program for the summer of 2019! Rising 7th 9th $325 per week Program starts 8am 5pm. Early drop off at 7:30am and late pick up at 6pm at no extra fee What grade is a child allowed to attend camp? Campers must be in rising 1st 9th grade. Overnight Camps are from rising 5th 9th. Rookie is 4th 5th. How are camper groups determined? We organize our groups by rising grade. Do I need to pack a lunch? No, snacks and meals are part of the camp fee. We accommodate dietary restrictions such as gluten free or vegetarian diet. What time is drop off and pick up? Our camp program begins at 8am and ends at 5pm. Early drop off at 7:30am and late pick up by 6pm at no extra charge. What does my child need to bring? Your child will need to wear comfortable shoes and clothes, bring a swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, bug spray and the most important item a WATERBOTTLE! My child is not a good swimmer. Do you provide swim lessons? Children in the rising 1st and 2nd grades will have the opportunity to have group swim lessons with our Water Safety Instructor. What is your refund/cancellation policy? Summer Staff Crew The Crew is a camp for rising 10th graders. The goal is to learn about Camp from a different perspective by learning about the diverse jobs around Camp. All of the team members that keep camp running smoothly are here with one common purpose, to create a safe, educational and exciting environment for your child to grow and thrive in. Crew members participate in day camp activities and assist the Program Director on activities for campers. They will learn general operations of a day at camp and participate in daily lunch and snack preparation. Our entire staff recognizes that you have many options when it comes to selecting a camp for your children. We consider it our privilege to host your camper and be a part of their great adventure for the summer! Thank you for being a part of New Hope Camp and Conference Center as we embark on our next great adventure. The program is designed to prepare members to join the camp as counselors-in-training the following year. All crew members will receive CPR training. Our goal is for participants to come away from this program with valuable leadership skills that will serve them well at home, in school, and in their own community.

Campers will learn how to build campfires, create meals for an overnight trip and head off with their culinary delights on a trip off-site. They will work with a blacksmith or an art project for the week and finally learn about fire safety which is very important when working with fire! Join us for a week that will be on fire! We are Family Rising 5th 9th Rookie Camp & the Amazing Race Rookie Camp (Rising 4th-5th) A one of a kind camp for our rising 4th and 5th grade campers. During the day our Rookies will be part of our traditional camp activities and then spend one night in our cabins. Our counsellors will have fun activities planned for our Rookies. A night swim, evening outdoor activities, and s mores by the campfire. This is a great camp to give overnight a try. Our Rookies will join the Amazing Race for one night only. The Amazing Race (Rising 5th 6th) Its an exciting adventure around the world for our campers! Each day and night campers compete in around the world challenges and cook culinary delights over the campfire.s mores are definitely on the menu. This is a great opportunity to encourage teamwork and sportsmanship in an exciting competitive way. Our Rookies will join our campers for a very special travel on one night. Our campers will focus on lots of teambuilding games, create their own family coat of arms and flag, share their own creative family stories, take camper family hikes, and will end the week with our own family reunion. This is a great way to start and continuing long lasting friendships that feel like family. Night Owl Camp (Rising 5th 9th) This unique camp experience will actually encourage you to stay up late and see what the natural world looks like in the dark! We will enjoy cooking out, field sports, night hikes, evening paddles, swimming, stargazing and more! There will be special guest visitors who will add an extra special experience for campers. You can expect to meet some native North Carolina nocturnal creatures during Night Owl Camp. You don t want to miss this adventure!
