Orientation Schedule Welcome to Belfast and the start of your study abroad experience! This is your schedule for your IFSA-Butler orientation. This booklet also contains important information and contact details that you will need over the course of the term. Please ensure that you contact your parents once you have arrived in Belfast. Sunday 12 th October 9.00 am Arrive in Belfast. Eibhlín will meet you at the airport and bring you by coach to Stranmillis. 10.00 am Arrive at Stranmillis University College and move into your accommodation. Eibhlín will give you some time to freshen up. Your Stranmillis Welcome & Orientation pack will be waiting for you in your bedroom. 11.00 am Depart Stranmillis for Belfast City. Eibhlín will take you into town by public bus. A great way to become familiar with your new local public transport service! 11.30 am Shopping. Ashley/Eibhlín will bring you to some stores where you can get essentials including towels, toiletries and a mobile phone. If there is anything else you need just ask and she ll point you in the right direction. 1.30 pm Lunch in Made In Belfast with Eibhlín & Ashley. This will be a good opportunity to ask Eibhlín/Ashley about anything you are confused about. Eibhlín s a Belfast local and full of local knowledge. She s also a primary school teacher so knows the education system inside out. 2.45 pm Walk with Ashley to Jury s hotel for Student Services presentation. 4.15 pm Return to Stranmillis by public bus. Afterwards, you have the rest of the evening free.
You should avoid sleeping to help adjust to Irish time and avoid jet lag. IFSA-Butler Ireland Website ireland.ifsa-butler.org The IFSA-Butler Ireland office website contains a lot of information that will be useful during your study abroad period. We will direct you to the website at different stages over the course of the semester/year. The section most commonly used is the Student Toolbox highlighted below. Student Handbook The Info for Students section contains the Spring 2014 Student Handbook. The handbook covers everything you will need to know while in Ireland or while travelling. This section also contains the Rush Transcript Request Form and the Change of Status Form.
