Estate buyers John and Polly Willis purchased the collection and were not able to dispose of it before they moved to Georgia. Fortunately, they had a friend by the name of George Gross who said he would give it to the library. Letters are in chronological order. English Dates c.a. 1943-1945 Historical Note Gordon M. Anderson was a resident of Vero Beach. He died September 13, 1988 and is buried at Crestlawn Cemetery, Vero Beach, Florida. He was born November 20, 1915 in Merrill, Wisconsin and moved to Vero Beach in 1973 from Miami. He worked for the Internal Revenue Service for 35 years and served in the United States Army in Counter Intelligence Corps., European Theatre, during World War II. He was married to Eunice (June). Only known family is a nephew in Bellaire, Texas by the name of Dr. Herman Herrin. Scope and Content Materials consist of letters from Gordon Anderson to his wife and parents (Martin N. Anderson) during World War II. Most letters were written 1
