Mr Sunny Ho reported a Council Retreat was held in January 2016 that the following three major focused areas were identified. Membership Values Membership Growth & Retention Public Recognition Institute works and membership activities have therefore been planned around these focused areas and would be continued in the year to come. In concluding the 2-year presidential term, Mr Sunny Ho expressed his heartfelt thanks to corporates/ organisations for their undaunted support to the Institute s activities especially the CILTHK Gala Dinner in June. The tremendous support given by the Council Members and committee members that again made the year 2015-2016 another fruitful year of CILTHK. The AGM was attended by 73 members and guests. All resolutions on the agenda were adopted. To achieve the financial sustainability of the Institute, a policy was discussed and approved by the Council that the Annual Subscription and Election Fees for membership to be reviewed in every 2 years; whereas adjustment should be taken with reference to the year s CPI and the financial position of the Institute. CILTHK Annual General Meeting 2016 Alteration of the Institute s Articles of Association As communication through electronic means has been widely adopted by individual and business sectors. All CILTHK members are provided with a free email account upon their election of membership to receive information and news from the Institute. The Council has therefore approved to allow the serving of general meeting notice and related document to members electronically as an additional means. The main changes of the Articles of Association were with Article 49 in this regard. At the same time, the new Companies Ordinance (Chapter 622) has been implemented since 3 March 2014 and one of the main changes was the abolishment of the Memorandum of Association. In respect of the Companies Registry s advices, the Institute s former Memorandum of Association was removed and incorporated into the Articles of Association. The above motion was again passed by the special resolution at the AGM with a support from 98% of the attending Institute Members. CILTHK President Award Dr Hung Wing Tat was the Chairman of the Institute (CITHK) in 1997-1998 and had continuously served the Council and Committees afterwards till 2014. In appreciation of his long-service and distinguished contributions to the Institute, the industry and the community, Dr Hung was conferred with the CILTHK President Award 2016. CILTHK Annual General Meeting 2016 CILTHK Best Paper Award 2016 In the last Professional Qualifying Examination held in May 2016, Miss Ho Kit-ying, Florence, Affiliate Member, achieved the highest mark in paper AL3: Transport Systems & Management and among all papers examined in May. CILTHK CPD Award 2016 In the recent CPD Audit 2016, Mr Lam Yat-leung, Jacky had accumulated a total of 740 CPD points in the specified CPD Cycle from 1 January 2014 to 31 July 2016 which was the best achievement among all selected members in the audit. CILTHK Scholarships 2015/2016 The Scholarship fund was sponsored by Airport Authority Hong Kong, Cotai Water Jet, Ove Arup & Partners Hong Kong Limited and Pacific Air Limited. An awardee for each academic level Master / Bachelor / Sub-degree, was selected and was offered a bursary of HK$4,000.00. - Sub-degree level student: Mr Keung Kin-lok ( ) of PolyU Hong Kong Community College - Bachelor degree student: Miss Cai Yu ( ) of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology - Master degree student: Mr Ji Chuhang ( ) of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University Mr Keung Kin-lok (left) was presented with the Scholarship by Mr Sunny Ho (middle) and Mr Edward Yuen representing Cotai Water Jet (right) Mr Sunny Ho and Mr Sam Chow representing ARUP (right) jointly presented the Scholarship to Mr Ji Chuhang (left) CILTHK Logistics & Transport Student Final Year Project Award 2016 The objective of the award is to encourage research and writing by students. A total of 10 nominations were received. Thanks go again to the sponsors: Airport Authority Hong Kong, Ove Arup & Partners Hong Kong Limited and Pacific Air Limited. The Award was conferred to a team of graduates from the Hang Seng Management College. Their winning project title was Analysis on arrival sequencing methods for smoothing arrival congestion & reducing arrival delay in HKIA. CILTHK Annual General Meeting 2016 CILTHK Case Competition 2016 The theme for this year was Innovative Ideas for Logistics and Transport Industry in Hong Kong and which had attracted 12 submissions. Mr WH Tsang (left) presented an Institute gift to Mr Sunny Ho (right) The Institute would like to tender our appreciations to both Ms Suyin Anand and Mr Ronald Lee for their support in providing legal and accounting services respectively on an honorary basis. Ms Suyin Anand and Ronald H.T. Lee & Co have been re-appointed as the Honorary Legal Advisor (2016-2018) and Honorary Auditor for the financial year ended 31 December 2016 respectively. Young Members Committee YMC Dinner Party 2016 On 25 September 2016, YMC hosted a dinner party cum appreciation dinner for Mentors at the il Bel Paese in Wanchai. The dinner started with welcoming by Mr Franki Li, Executive Chair of YMC (2014-2016), with a recap of activities in the past two years. Mr YT Li, Chairman of YMC, thanked members and sponsors support that enable him to successfully complete the chairmanship for a total of four years. Mr Edwin Yeung, YMC member, prepared a wonderful and challenging game for all participants when the transport service began, when the infrastructure was built? Irrespective participants thought they were old enough or have had tens of years experience in the transport industry, 1/3 wrong answers were given. Nevertheless, it brought the first wave of climax for the evening which followed with the second wave in the lucky draw. A joyful evening with good food was enjoyed by YMC members, Mentors, new Student Members. WiLAT/YMC FunTram, 21 August 2016 To ride on the trendy game in town Pokémon Go, a FunTram ride was organised to make it more fun for members and friends to play the game in a safe environment. The event was jointly arranged by WiLAT and YMC which received full support from the Hong Kong Tramways. Through the event, the Institute also purposefully disseminates an important message reminding the public to be always on alert and most importantly stay safe while playing mobile games and using mobile devices in their daily life. During the event, participants mingled and interacted with each other via a thrilling 30-minute Monster Catching Competition. The Champion of Monster-catching competition, Ms Debbie Mak, caught 36 monsters during the 30-minute game, commented it was fantastic to play her favorite game with other young professionals while enjoying the fascinating city view of Hong Kong on an open-top tram. 5

Marketing & Promotion Committee CILTHK Young Achiever Award 2016 The Award aims at providing encouragement and an international recognition for young members in the profession. Miss Cheung Man-yee, Sonia, Affiliate Member, is now an Associate Director at Chung Shing Taxi Ltd. oversees its operations since 2011. In 2015, Sonia established the SynCab Taxi Service and launched the first multi-purpose taxis (MPT) in Hong Kong providing high quality taxi services to riders with special needs, including people with disabilities; people with big luggage and people travel in small hours. Sonia commits to play her part to bring up the local taxi service quality to the global standard and initiates many innovative ideas to strive for its improvement from hardware to software, for example, introducing the smart phone APP and the value-added services in the taxi included the free WIFI and the credit card payment. She also initiates training programs to the taxi drivers to rectify their badly complained habits and encourages Happy Work Life in the company to make the drivers feel good about their job. She also provides job opportunities to people with disabilities and discharged prisoners to serve the company. With the remarkable contribution devoted by Sonia to improve the taxi services in Hong Kong, she successfully becomes the CILTHK Young Achiever 2016. Furthermore, Sonia will be nominated by the Council to represent CILTHK to compete for the CILT International Young Achiever Award 2017. Professional Activities Committee CILTHK Seminar: The Future Role of Hong Kong Port: Where to Go from a Regional Transshipment Hub? 8 July 2016 The role of Hong Kong as a regional hub for connecting China with the rest of the world has gradually changed since this century. About 74% of container throughput of Hong Kong Port is transshipment today, and nearby ports such as Shenzhen and Guangzhou are handling more and more in the regional share of traffic and trade. In the seminar, Dr James Wang figured out the questions of what happened in the past and provided the participants a better understanding on the change and opportunity of Hong Kong container port. Dr Wang also shared a new perspective on the future development of Hong Kong container port and how would Hong Kong as a regional hub be able to sustain itself in a regional perspective. The visit was well received by members and extra quotas were offered by IKEA to entertain the long waiting list. IKEA Distribution Center is located at the ATL Logistics Center at Kwai Chung. It occupies 32,000 square meters with an inventory holding capacity of 10,000 items and provides complete home furniture and home accessories supplies to the three IKEA Stores in Hong Kong and one Merchandise Pickup Center in Macau. The IKEA Distribution Center Manager, Mr Simon Lam, CMILT, introduced to the participants the IKEA concept in supply chains, the general overview on the distribution center operations, the key performance indicators (KPIs) and challenges they are facing. Simon also shared his combat experience on how to enhance the efficiency and flexibility of the Distribution Center and to create a safe and healthy working environment for their staff. Participants expressed the visit was very interesting and informative. 6

It was held at the HKPU with an attendance over 270. In the seminar, Ir Prof Vincent Ho discussed various styles and types of corporate safety governance structures adopted by multinational companies and the role of leadership in safety governance. Ir Prof Ho argued that directors of a company should ensure the vision is clear and resources are available to maintain safety standards. He also addressed the safety governance framework MTR adopts across its diverse businesses in the seminar. At the end, Ir Prof Ho mentioned to the participants Governance should be executed through a set of checks and balances to maintain standards ranging from audits and policy reviews to management tours of workplaces. There is no magic bullet, no single one right CSG style. A fit-for-purpose, adaptive CSG model can help a company to excel. Walk21 Hong Kong International Conference Furthermore, our young members organised two Walkshops (walking tour + workshop) for conference delegates on 7 October 2016. Besides bringing delegates to the city, our young members shared local transport stories with participants. The 17th Annual Conference on Walking and Liveable Communities ( Walk21 ) was held in Hong Kong for the first time on 3-7 October 2016. Delegates from around the world came and learnt about how Hong Kong was leading the charge to become one of Asia s most walkable cities. Apart from being a supporting organisation of the event, CILTHK has also participated in signing the International Charter for Walking. The Charter was developed by Walk21 ten years ago. By signing the Charter, the signatories acknowledge the need and benefits of creating healthy, efficient and sustainable communities where people choose to walk. Membership Committee Members Profiles Ms Carmen Wai-ching LI, FCILT Ms Li started her career in transport sector in 1989 when she joined Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation (KCRC), and since then had held a variety of posts, the latest being General Manager - Intercity & Freight. Most of her duties involved business dealings with Mainland organisations, primarily those in the Ministry of Railways and the Customs, Immigration and Quarantine (commonly known as CIQ) authorities. Following the merger of MTR Corporation and KCRC in December 2007, Ms Li assumed the post of General Manager Intercity & Freight in MTR Corporation Limited, focusing on Intercity through train and freight services between Hong Kong and Mainland China. In 2010, Ms Li was retitled General Manager Intercity as MTR Corporation and the Mainland Railways decided to focus on Intercity Passenger Services. Since then, she has also assumed an active role contributing to the development of the High Speed Rail Project between Hong Kong and the Mainland, mainly on the pre-operational aspects. Ms Li is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport [CILT] and an Associate Fellow of the China Hong Kong Railway Institution [CHKRI]. She is a Founding Member of the Chinese Academy of Governance (HK) Industrial and Commercial Professionals Alumni Associated Ltd. [CAGA] and a former Director of the International Chinese Transportation Professionals Association [ICTPA] (Hong Kong Chapter). She holds a Master of Arts degree in Translation from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and a Master of Arts degree in Transport Policy and Planning (with distinction) from the University of Hong Kong. Mr William Chak-man CHUNG, CMILT Mr Chung started his career as Management Trainee in Citybus Limited and later joined the Government Land Transport Agency as Assistant Transport Supervisor in 1985. In the following years, he had worked for Television Broadcast Limited as Transport Manager in 1989, Bus Traffic Manager in Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation in 1991 and re-joined Citybus Limited as Assistant General Manager (Operations) in 1997. He has been the Head of Operations of Citybus Limited and New World First Bus Services Limited since the New World Group acquired Citybus Limited in 2003 and has been holding the Directorship of both Citybus Limited and New World First Bus Services Limited since 2006. He was also an Executive Director of Kwoon Chung Bus Holding Limited and New Lantao Bus Company (1973) Limited between 2008 and 2014. Mr Chung was graduated from the Hong Kong Polytechnic with Professional Diploma in Business Studies (Transport) in 1983 and holds an MBA degree from the University of South Australia. He has been a Chartered Member since 1987 and now serves the CILTHK in the position of Council Member. 10 Mr Ricky Shun-bun LAM, CMILT Mr Lam has more than 35 years of finance and logistics experiences. He joined East West Freight Ltd. in 1977, it was his first job in logistics field. When he was an Accounting and Office Manager in Airborne Freight Corporation, he was assigned by its Head Office in Seattle/U.S.A. to develop an International Accounting System to be implemented for the whole Far East Stations such as Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, Sydney, and Hong Kong. The whole project was completed successfully. He was appointed the Director of World Transportation Ltd. when he wrote a whole set of quality and procedures manuals for its air and sea freight departments. He did it by himself to prepare a whole comprehensive system which was implemented successfully with full quality documental control to achieve the ISO 9002 Award granted by HKQAA. It was the first freight forwarding company without using any consultant to achieve this award in Hong Kong. He held master degrees of MBA and MScIAF, got seven professional accounting qualifications and was the 17th person in Hong Kong to achieve the highest award, i.e. Chartered Manager, granted by Chartered Management Institute, U.K. Mr Lam joined CILTHK in 1987 and was elected the Chartered Membership in 2010. Apart from serving as a Council Member, Mr Lam has been members of Membership Committee and Transport Policy Committee. 9
