Club Members of the Year Helen & Col Bootle Family Participation Award The Cox Family Thank you. Ken Warburton keep your hat on old mate, that way you will not be looking for it at the end of a club meeting thinking someone had lifted it. I think you need to build a wall around it.

Neville & Annette Jones We are saddened to hear that Neville & Annette Jones have not renewed their membership to the club. They have been valued members of the club from the very early days. Annette has filled the position of Treasurer on eight occasions and Neville spent one year as President and many years as Membership Co ordinator. Neville also organised our club s 40th Anniversary Events. They have assisted many members with their Model A s to get them back on the road. Neville always seemed to have someone s Model A in his garage in Baulkham Hills that he was working on. He was a craftsman with timber, and built a beautiful Model A Panel Van (his own & now Ken Warburtons) and a Station Wagon (owned by Scott Nieass). I think today his wood working skills are a lost art, and I am so pleased I have had the pleasure of seeing his timber creations. He also recreated detailed timber frames for other vintage/veteran vehicles. The original piece given to Neville to work from generally was less than 50% complete and full of wood rot. Neville used his imagination and skill to recreate what had been lost. I asked Neville to restore a scale model of a Tooth s Brewery Beer Wagon with four horses and two drivers that had been in a cardboard box for 40 years. He meticulously recreated all the leather harnesses, restored the wagon, built barrels and painted everything including the drivers and horses. Once completed he mounted it in a clear display case and it was amazing to see its transformation. He turned this into a treasure. Neville also built a 1/10th scale Model A Ford, from timber. This model was incredibly detailed and was proudly displayed by the club at a Model A National Meet. This was a work of art and is now on display in a private car collection in Smeaton Grange. Neville and Annette will be best remembered for the Model A Maintenance Days they ran at their home. This brought members together and was instrumental in providing them with the practical knowledge regarding servicing, repairing and maintaining our wonderful cars. This was and still is a strong feature of the club and an event all members look forward to. We wish Neville & Annette the very best for the future, they will be missed.
