The Khao Sok National Park, with its green-covered karst peaks, enchants all senses. On the Chiew Larn lake we discover one of the world's oldest intact rainforests. Bangkok Bangkok, the pulsating metropolis of Thailand, offers uncountable choices for excursions, including temple visits, palaces, klongs, museums. It has all the culinary treats that one could desire and is a true shoppers paradise. There is the opportunity to visit the huge Chatuchak weekend market on the Saturday before the tour starts. We recommend that you stay a couple of days before the road bike tour starts in Bangkok. We are happy to help you book your accommodation in Bangkok and can provide you with further information as required. 1 st day - arrival to Bangkok We stay in a 4* hotel on Sukhumvit Road in the heart of Bangkok. In the evening, we welcome you in the hotel lobby, where you will receive all the information regarding the tour, as well as interesting details about your host country. Afterwards we will hand over the team jerseys to all participants. 2 nd day 1 st stage, Bangkok Bangkaeo Hua Hin = 70 km (44 miles), flat We leave Bangkok in a comfortable minibus in the direction of Phetchaburi. The outward drive from the heart of Bangkok to our start location takes about 2 hours. Our starting stage rolls along flat side roads down the coast to Cha Am. After lunch we ride through rice fields into Hua Hin. Hua Hin is Thailand s oldest seaside resort and welcomes us with plenty of good restaurants, shops, and a 5 km (3 mile) white sandy beach. In the afternoon we will check in to our Hotel and refresh ourselves in the big pool. B L page 2 of 7
3 rd day 2 nd stage, Hua Hin Kui Buri Beach = 78 km (49 miles), flat After an exquisite breakfast buffet, we ride the first 13 km (8 miles) on the main road, and then continue riding on very smooth rural roads where plenty of shrimp farms shape the country side. We cross the Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park and head towards Kui Buri Beach. Our hotel is located on the beach. In the evening we have the opportunity to enjoy plenty of fine local specialities. B 4 th day 3 rd stage, Kui Buri Beach Baan Krut Beach = 102 km (63 miles), mostly flat We ride along the coastal road, then, for a short time, we change to the main road and enjoy relaxed riding on a 2-meter-wide bike lane. We then leave this road and ride the last 30 km (19 mi) back on side roads to the beach of Baan Krut our finishing point for the day s stage. The tiny village is one of Thailand s hidden gems. At the end of the idyllic beach, perfect for swimming, is a very stunning hilltop temple site. Here, we enjoy the view over the enchanting bay and the surrounding area covered by green foliage. The resort is located directly on the dreamlike beach, beckoning us to relax. B L page 3 of 7
5 th day 4 th stage, Baan Krut Beach Chumphon Beach = 122 km (76 miles), undulating On this extremely scenic stage we ride only on side roads rich in variety. We arrive at the hilltop temple of Kaeo Prasert with stunning views over the wonderful Thung Maha Bay. We cycle this slightly undulating stage passing through plantations, rice paddies and palm tree groves. In the little villages we are always greeted with a heartily Hello's. The beach of Ao Thung Wua Laen is our finishing point for the day and is located 15 km (9 miles) outside of Chumphon. B L 6 th day R&R in Chumphon The rest day offers the opportunity to sleep in, relax or stay by the hotel pool. Nature lovers may prefer the white sandy beach and the warm seawater. Later on, treat yourself to a massage! Those with energy can enjoy an additional cycle. Chumphon is considered as the door to the south of Thailand and therefore offers plenty of areas to explore. Or just enjoy the day at this beautiful beach, which is another hidden gem! B 7 th day 5th stage, Chumphon Beach Lamae Beach 125 km (78 miles), flat Throughout the day, the sea remains close by and our constant companion, highlighted by the tropical green vegetation lining the route. We ride South around the city of Chumphon and then get back to the coast. The road here almost belongs to us alone. The Lamae Beach is still in the province of Chumphon and our hotel is, again, right on the sea. B L page 4 of 7
8 th day 6 th stage, Lamae Beach Takun (Chiew Larn Lake) 133 km (83 miles), roling partial route in the van possible On this queen stage we head inland for the first time. Before reaching Suratthani, the capital of the province, we turn towards Khao Sok National Park. The flat coastal landscape changes to undulating sections. The rubber and oil palm forests are characteristic of this fertile area. We approach one of the largest reservoirs in Thailand formed by the construction of the Ratchaprapha dam in 1982 which created a unique lake. The huge pool at our hotel invites you to swim and relax. B L 9 th day Trip in the morning to Chiew Larn Lake 7 th stage, Takun Khao Sok National Park 47 km (29 miles), lightly roling After breakfast we take the bus to the lake and start a 3-hour trip on the reservoir, which is part of the Khao Sok National Park. The scenery with limestone peaks protruding from the water is truly unique. The surrounding rainforest is one of the oldest intact forests of its kind in the world. We enjoy our lunch at a floating resort in the middle of the lake. In the afternoon we cycle through a river valley, which is lined on both sides by mighty, turquoise-green limestone formations. Our bungalows are located in the middle of a green oasis on the edge of the national park. B L page 5 of 7
10 th day Last stage and overnight stay in Khao Lak 8 th stage, Khao Sok National Park Khao Lak Beach 75 km (47 miles), short climb We ride through the Khao Sok National Park and the enchanted mountain scenery. A short climb, which can be done on the bus, leads to a perfect vantage point. We let the atmosphere of the rainforest affect us again before we enjoy the descent through the jungle. The coast of the Indian Ocean awaits us in Khao Lak. Of course, our resort is again located directly on the sea. A refreshing drink on the beach and the view of the sea make a perfect end to our fantastic journey. B 11 th day Extension or continuation of individual journey as one chooses. Bon Voyage!
