President s Message A very happy New Year to all fellow Rotarians and your families and I hope that it is a successful year for Rotary and our projects. This is a very short message for this week, a reminder that we start the year off with our usual BBQ at Rotary Park at the usual time 6.00 for 6.30pm, it is BYO everything meat, salads, drinks, chairs, tables, etc. I have been in touch with the Council and asked them to remove the bollards so that we can drive the cars through to the BBQ for those who have difficulty with walking distances. The Learn-to-Swim programme is underway and I would urge all Rotarians to turn up during the next 11 days (until the 18 th January) and demonstrate our support for this very worthwhile project of ours. God knows how many lives have been saved by learning to swim through Rotary. (And Rotary has been running this programme for 40+ years!!) John Dare and I have put our heads together and we have some great speakers lined up for the coming 6 months. If you know of anyone whom you think would be an excellent speaker, please, please contact either John or myself before you suggest a date to them. Other things could be in the pipeline being organised and it can make it embarrassing if dates have to be changed. I look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow. President Maree
