This is a wonderful area for walks and cycling as well as driving tours to explore the many attractions of this area. Situated on a hillside, the Mas is surrounded by woodland and has wonderful views over the valley. This very welcoming Mas Roux is accessed by a driveway past a terraced garden planted with lavender and shrubs. On the same level as the house is the swimming pool 11x 6 m, with a surrounding terrace furnished with wrought-iron sun lounge- chairs. A pretty covered terrace just outside the house is perfect for dining outdoors. All the rooms have been decorated and furnished in true Provençal style. Soft muted colours, traditional beamed ceilings and stone tiled floors form a backdrop for country antique furniture, beautiful antique lights and mirrors and pretty curtains and bed linens. Everything is immaculate, yet also very welcoming. Mas Roux is surrounded by some of the most stunning villages in the Luberon such as Gordes, Bonnieux and Goult. There are many restaurants in the area including weekly markets and excellent farmers' market selling fruit, vegetables, flowers and wine in Coustellet on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings including markets in all the villages from Apt to Gordes and beyond all within easy access to get to. The enchanting nearby villages of Gordes, one of the most beautiful villages in the South of France, is on your doorstep and is well worth a visit. Its century old cobbled streets, tall stone houses built against the rock and the imposing castle are the unique setting for many art exhibitions and musical festivals taking place during the summer season. Other villages such as Menerbes, Fontaines de Vaucluse are an absolute must to visit as well if you are seeking to experience the essence of Provence. And don't miss the pretty village of L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, with its canals, narrow streets and antiques market.
