Detailed itinerary Day 1 Arrival in London Luton Airport, transfer to the accommodation We arrive at London Luton Airport early in the afternoon from where we reach our central London accommodation by train in half an hour. During our flight, we enjoy interesting quizzes on the history and culture of the UK. Arriving at our accommodation, we take some free time to unpack, have dinner and play some fun games. We go to bed early to be able to have a rest before our weekly adventures. Topics: UK history, culture, interesting facts Day 2 Westminster quarter, boat trip on the Thames, Tower Bridge, interactive visit to a Victorian school Following our breakfast, we set out to discover some of the famous sights of London. We travel to Westminster station by underground where we get amazed by the Houses of Parliament with its famous clock tower, the Big Ben, we take a photo of the London Eye and look at the masterpiece of Gothic architecture, the remarkable Westminster Abbey where the coronations are held. We embark on a boat at the nearby pier and have a fantastic trip on the River Thames getting as far as the legendary Tower Bridge.

Részletes program

Részletes program We cross the bridge so we can see the Tower of London, a historic castle that was used for different purposes. We walk to Shakespeare s Globe Theatre passing the HMS Belfast, a World War II Royal Navy ship and reaching the Millenium Bridge, a suspension bridge for pedestrians, that leads into the gardens in front of St. Paul s Cathedral. In the afternoon we visit the largest free school for poor Victorian children in London which works as a museum today. We take part in two sessions here, a Victorian lesson led by Miss Perkins, a costumed actor, and a storytelling session, where old objects and costumes are used to tell the story of a Victorian family. Topics: architecture, theatre, school life and family life in Victorian England

Detailed itinerary Day 3 Interactive visit to the British Museum, Oxford Street We spend the biggest part of our day in the British Museum, one of the most famous museums in the world. In the morning hours, we take a look at ancient Egyptian life and the mysterious secrets of mummies as part of two interactive guided tours in the exhibition site. We will definitely not miss the sculptures of the Acropolis of Athens, the 12th century Scottish chess figures and the Rosetta Stone either. This large piece of stone from the 2nd century BC has scripts on it in more languages, therefore it enabled us to decipher Egyptian hieroglyphs. After our time travel, we hop on a red double decker in front of the museum building and go to Oxford Street where we can buy the coolest gifts to our family. We find the Hamleys, the oldest and biggest toy shop in the world among the elegant Georgian buildings of the Regent Street. Topics: ancient civilizations, life in Ancient Egypt, shopping
