Day 1May 3 Day 2May 4 West Coast, USA Prague, Czech Republic We begin our journey by boarding an international flight to Prague from the West Coast, USA. Day 3May 5 Prague Prague is the capital and largest city in the Czech Republic and the historical capital of Bohemia. Upon arrival, we will transfer to the hotel and enjoy the rest of the day on our own. Prague After breakfast, we will begin the day with a panoramic tour of Prague, including a guided walk through Prague Castle. Few cities embody the past as authentically as Prague, the Czech Republic s impressive capital on the Vltava River that clings to its history with unwavering passion. Prague s medieval architecture is its most prominent feature, but the city is also a rich repository of Romanesque, baroque and Art Nouveau buildings that stirs the imagination. After the tour, enjoy a free afternoon and evening to visit some of the city s landmarks or museums on your own. Day 4May 6 Prague (B) Today, we will have a full day to further explore Prague. See more of the Old Town or check out some of Prague s more modern sights like the Frank Gehry designed Dancing House, an unusual office building inspired by Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. Walk across the Charles Bridge, see the mesmerizing Astronomical Clock and the poignant Lennon Wall, and stand in historic Wenceslas Square. Wander past the colorful cottages in Golden Lane, where novelist and short story writer Franz Kafka lived and worked. Or in the Jewish Quarter, see the 13th-century Altneuschul, Europe s oldest, active synagogue. Day 5May 7 Prague Passau, Germany (B, D) After breakfast, we will transfer to our ship in Passau. After boarding, we will have some free time to explore the ship on our own, or we can join the cruise s Welcome Walk to get familiar with the ship. Day 6May 8 Passau (B, L, D) Today we will have a walking tour of the elegant town Passau, called the Dreiflüssestadt ( City on Three Rivers because it is situated where the Danube is joined by the Ilz and Inn Rivers). We will see the New Bishop s Residence where powerful prince-bishops ruled secular and religious life for hundreds of years. We will visit the magnificent 17th-century St. Stephen s Cathedral with its ornate interior. Inside, we will be treated to a special concert played on the 17,000-pipe organ, considered Europe s largest church organ. This afternoon, we are free to explore Passau, see the sights, and experience the local culture. Day 7May 9 Linz, Austria (B, D) Today after breakfast, we will get ready for our whole day excursion in the beautiful Bohemian Town of Český Krumlov, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will be looking at the countryside of the Czech Republic and take a walking tour featuring the lovely historic center of the city with many baroque and Renaissance buildings, dating back hundreds of years. We will also have some free time to enjoy Krumlov s charming streets, filled with cafes, shops, galleries and pubs. We can pick up our own lunch from here. Later on, we will experience all the charms of this capital of Upper Austria, by mini-train and by foot. We will return to our ship for dinner on board and a late-evening departure. (B)

Day 8May 10 Krems, Austria (B, L, D) Today, after scenic sailing this morning through the Wachau Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, we will arrive in Krems. After lunch, we will depart from our ship for an exclusive visit to the splendid Benedictine Abbey of Göttweig. We will be welcomed in the abbey s picturesque apricot garden with a taste of sparkling apricot wine produced in the region, view a short film about monastic life and learn what it takes to run a monastery today. Step through the church s neoclassical portal into a rainbow-colored interior with beautiful pews. Afterwards, we will continue into the abbey s museum, which chronicles its former incarnation as an Augustine monastery and its role as a monastic retreat. Marvel at the three-story Imperial Staircase, crowned by one of the largest and most spectacular ceiling frescoes in the world, depicting the Holy Roman Emperor Charles VI as Apollo. The adjoining princely and imperial rooms showcase splendid artwork from the abbey s own collections. Dinner will be served on board as we prepare to set sail for Vienna. Day 9May 11 Vienna, Austria (B, L, D) Today we will have a tour of Vienna, capital of Austria. We will see the Ringstrasse, a UNESCO World Heritage Site which replaced the city walls in the mid-19th century. Imposing palaces, elegant public buildings and grand residences line this world-famous avenue. We will see the magnificent Hofburg Palace, winter residence of the Hapsburgs and home of the Spanish Riding School with its Lipizzaner horses. Admire the great, Gothic St. Stephan s Cathedral, crowned with a gleaming spire and colorful roof tiles. And view the beautiful Vienna State Opera Concert Hall, its facade adorned with elaborate frescoes depicting Mozart s opera The Magic Flute. Day 10May 12 Bratislava, Slovakia (B, L, D) This morning we will arrive in Bratislava and join a walking tour of Slovakia s charming capital with a long and fascinating history. It is the only national capital that borders two other countries, Austria and Hungary. See attractions like the medieval Town Hall complex and fortifications at Michael s Tower, the baroque Jesuit Church and Gothic St. Martin s Cathedral, and pass by several Hapsburg-era Baroque Palaces before returning to the ship. Pass along the Amber Road, tracing the ancient trade route that once linked Northern and Southern Europe. Stop to view the Gothic-style Universitas Istropolitana, the first university to have been founded in present-day Slovakia. Around the square, we will see the rococo, late-baroque Grassalkovich Palace, residence of the president, and the rose-hued Archbishop s Palace, home to today s mayor. Day 11May 13 Budapest, Hungary (B, L, D) Our highlight of the day is visiting the once separate towns of Buda and Pest, beginning in modern Pest. Along the elegant Andrássy Avenue, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Champs-Élysées of Budapest, admire the Hungarian State Opera House. Then we will stop at Heroes Square, a wide-open plaza of monuments and statues commemorating the Magyar state. Across the river, explore the more traditional Buda side of the city. We will visit the Castle District with its massive hilltop castle complex, the turreted Fishermen s Bastion and Matthias Church, named for the country s most popular medieval king here. Before returning to the ship, enjoy fantastic views of the famous Chain Bridge, the first span to ever connect the two halves of the city when it opened in 1849. Return to the ship for a traditional Hungarian farewell dinner. Day 12May 14 Budapest West Coast, USA (B) After breakfast, disembark and proceed to the airport for our return flight to the West Coast, USA. We wish you a safe journey and capture many wonderful memories to share with family and friends! B: Breakfast L: Lunch D: Dinner
