Check out the new Fairmont Park Pond! If you haven t been to Fairmont Park lately, consider a visit! Recently renovated, the park now offers more features and ac vi es than ever before. Visitors enjoy ac vi es such as wildlife watching, pickle ball, and an off-leash dog area. Events at Fairmont include the Sugarhouse Farmers Market and Yappy Hour held during summer months. In addi on, Salt Lake City recently completed a wetland pond restora on project in partnership with the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources. The pond is now clearer, more accessible, and filled with trout! It is open for fishing (Utah fishing license required) and is a great place for kids to learn. Who knows, maybe you ll catch a big one! The land that is now Fairmont Park has been a part of SLC since the first pioneers arrived in 1847. Today, a magnificent Fremont Poplar, originally planted by Brigham Young, still stands. Now the 155-year-old tree serves as a reminder of the parks great history. The land would be officially dedicated as Fairmont Park and would serve Sugar House s oldest residential subdivision. Nowadays, the park remains an integral part of the community, growing more diverse with time. Open for fishing!
