There were large numbers of happy campers set up in caravans, tents, camper vans of many types and sizes occupying all sectors of our site. We had something for everyone with the offering of games, entertainment and unrivalled social gatherings receiving high praise from one and all. I think this year s event would rank as one of the best ever featuring such a variety of games and activities catering for all ages. The convivial WOS organising and catering team were supreme in every aspect and undoubtedly contributing to the increasing popularity of this annual social event. I feel privileged to be working alongside such a happy and proficient team. Be sure to mark this event on your calendar for next year

WOS Mini-Rally weekend held 2nd- 5th Feb 2018 This popular events weekend open to members and visitors had happy campers arriving Friday and by 4:44pm at our regular happy hour we had a pretty good social team assembled, some already had practise rounds under their belts and some had been testing the waters in the pool and the spa or perfecting their relaxing modes whilst contemplating the rigours of the fun filled weekend ahead. With a raft of different types of games organised throughout the weekend the was something for everyone always happening for both spectators and participants. Petanque was popular and the options included darts, 8 ball, two different golf games, Kubb, Croquet, gumboot throw, Indoor bowls, the hammer and nail contest, Mini-Ten etc., - all interspersed with BBQ s, snack breaks, water bottle launching, Quick Fire raffles and spontaneous entertainment with swimming and spa breaks plus time out exploring the walking tracks & feeding the almost tame eels in the stream. The most entertaining game proved to be the WOS introduced novelty game of three down whereby contestants were required to toss a small rice-filled bag onto a sloped board aiming to drop into the bulls eye hole in the board to score the max 3 points. The prevailing fun and relaxed atmosphere of the weekend ensured a great time was had by young and old, the variety of organised food was bloody marvellous and the Bingo and Family Feud entertainment in the evenings had everyone participating for a part of the fun and fame each night. Of course the above is just a brief outline of happenings and the fun times to be had at this annual WOS event, being a part of it is reward enough for a great weekend outing - so don t miss it next year.
