Saturday is spent outside on the trail, practical information is devlivered in the great outdoors, be prepared for a longish day. Sunday participants get a chance to sue the skills they have learnt. For people coming from Red deer, meet at Tim Horton's on 67th Street to leave at 7:00 am to arrange car pooling. Aug 6: Picklejar Lakes. Moderate hike. 8 km return, 500m elevation to a series of 4 backcountry lakes. Known for fishing, bring your pole and license if you like. Aug 7: Zephr Creek to the pictographs. 9 km return, 600m elevation. Requires crossing the Highwood River. Aug 8: Loomis Lake. 8 km easy bike suitable for novice rider followed by 4 km hike (24 km return). Requires crossing the Highwood River plus 6 crossings of Loomis Lake with your bike.
