Construction: Steel Year: 1960 (Refits 1993 & 2000 & 2010) Lying: Ensenada, Mexico DESCRIPTION This is truly a "turn-key" Expedition Ship that is crew-ready to take you and your guests in stabilized comfort and safety for long and short range cruising. This vessel has been lovingly maintained by her owner, who has kept up a tradition for keeping her in top shape. She received a full exterior paint, including bottom, hull sides and topsides... truly complete paintwork. Also, bonding system upgrades, bilges painted, and vessel audio gauge... just off the yard in January 2010. She is a spectacular vessel, uniquely equipped to support nature documentary filming and ecological expeditions. HISTORY Originally built for the Canadian Coast Guard in Quebec, she was designed, constructed and classed for light ice breaking. She is a Collingwood Expedition Ship, which spent her first 30 years operating year round in fresh water on the St. Lawrence Sea Way. This go-anywhere expedition style ship was first converted for yacht-style cruising. Originally accommodating a crew of 34, the vessel was sold to the U.S. owner in 1993, at which time she was converted to a luxury yacht. There were a number of cabins removed to make way for guest accommodations, a large master cabin and a main salon. In 1999, she underwent a 6 month mechanical refit of all engines and operating systems wherein the owner spent more than 4 million dollars on the upgrades alone. In the spring of 2000 two new John Deere 115 kw generators were installed as well as a backup 150kW Isuzu and massive 8 tons hydraulic deck crane. She is tremendously efficient burning only 30 gallons per hour at cruise for both engines and one of her generators. This yacht/ship is a must see for anyone that is looking for an expedition vessel capable of world cruising. The different refit history is available on request. ACCOMMODATIONS She has a total of 8 guest cabins and can accommodate up to 12 guests. Davie & Sons 169 Expedition Page 3 of 19
