INSIDER TIPS This would be the perfect place to bring the extended family or a group of friends, and you can enjoy the luxury of having your own chef to look after you. I also love the fact that you are right in the heart of the countryside, yet only 2 miles from the historic town of Aix-en-Provence. Being a university town, Aix is full of life and has plenty of restaurants: do try La Grillon or Le Cafe du Cours on the Cours Mirabeau in the centre of town. There are museums and galleries, and for shopping, you'll be spoilt for choice: there are many chic little boutiques as well as larger outlets such as Monoprix (a French chain store excellent for fashions and other goods, all at very affordable prices). Whatever you do, don't miss the famous flower market at Place de l'hotel on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings. There is another famous weekly market on Place des Precheurs, where vendors come from all over Provence to sell fruit and vegetables as well as curiosities of all kinds.
