Who we are The first step to innovation The Swiss plastics industry is currently facing a number of major challenges. However, it has the potential to overcome them successfully by means of automation and innovation. These are achieved by the intelligent combination of material, process and component design. And that is precisely where the great strength of Swiss engineering lies: it enables innovations to be introduced for new applications and resource-conserving production. The Swiss Plastics Expo provides an overview of new technologies and materials, or their smart combination. The trade fair is the place where new projects are initiated and innovations take shape. Innovation starts here. Focus on the markets The aim of the Swiss Plastics Expo is to bring the sales markets of construction, medtech, electronics, mobility, devices and packaging into closer contact with the Swiss plastics trade fair. Fair visitors from these markets should regard the Swiss Plastics Expo as the essential place for ideas, knowledge and networking for future innovations. New image under the umbrella brand The umbrella brand of the Swiss plastics industry, «Swiss Plastics» was launched at Swiss Plastics 2014. This unique network strengthens the plastics industry whilst linking companies with science, training and further training, the media and organisations. «Swiss Plastics» carries out funding projects in the areas of innovation, marketing, and support for the younger generation. The Swiss Plastics Expo is held in close collaboration with the network, and is therefore presented under the umbrella brand. Enhance the fair s international character The Swiss plastics industry needs to build on its good reputation and strengthen excellence for greater international showcasing. Innovation Symposium The Swiss Plastics Expo is an event where you can gain new knowledge. In the past, every fourth fair visitor took part in the Innovation Symposium. At the Swiss Plastics Expo 2017, this event will be structured around the six sales markets and will be organised in partnership with higher education institutions and organisations. Innovation Parks The Innovation Parks present potential innovation fields such as additive manufacturing in mould making, modern joining techniques or various material applications. Science Park The Science Park provides a detailed overview of national research activities and research skills associated with plastic as a material. Within the Swiss Plastics Expo, it is the ideal platform for establishing long-term contacts, exchanging ideas and finding out about current and future developments.
