A historic moment that also marks the dawn of the first catering in Austria was the provision of culinary services to the Imperial Pavilion at the World Exhibition in Vienna s Prater in 1873. In the same year Gerstner was awarded the official title Purveyor to the Imperial and Royal Court. Ever since, for almost 170 years now, our confectioners and chefs have felt bound to this great tradition without compromise.
