P a g e 5 Day 1: Lake Duluti Serena Hotel, Arusha (Sat, 13 January) Arusha Welcome to Tanzania. You will be met upon arrival at the Kilimanjaro airport by our local representatives and be transferred to the hotel. Arusha is the safari capital of Tanzania located at the foot of Mt. Meru, close to Mount Kilimanjaro, the Manyara, Tarangire and Ngorongoro National Parks. From there it s only a short trip to the Serengeti. Just to the north, on the slopes of Mt. Meru is the Arusha National Park. Built by the Germans as a centre of colonial administration because of the temperate climate, Arusha is a good spot to spend a day or two before or after your trek up Mt. Kilimanjaro. Overnight: Lake Duluti Serena Hotel Nestled at the foot of the wooded slopes of Mount Meru, this unique hotel stands amid coffee plantations on the shores of tranquil Lake Duluti. Designed to echo the traditional style of the colonial coffee farm, which originally stood on this site, Mountain Village offers a range of tastefully presented cottage-styled rooms set amid extensive landscaped grounds. Standing at the gateway to the famous Tanzanian Northern Safari Circuit', the hotel offers a broad range of attractions, which include: walking, mountain biking, canoeing on the lake, and trips to the nearby Arusha and Mount Meru national parks. Dinner, Bed and Breakfast Day 2: Lake Duluti Serena Hotel, Arusha (Sun, 14 January) Activities Optional : For those interested we will arrange a 5 hour tour of the Arusha National Park with a picnic lunch.

P a g e 6 Arusha National Park This exceptionally beautiful area is divided into three parts Mt. Meru, the Ngurdoto Crater and the Momela Lakes which means it has a wide range of habitats. Arusha is not known for its big game viewing but offers a wide range of smaller animals, plenty of birds and breathtaking highland Afromontane forests. Dinner, Bed and Breakfast Day 3: Lake Duluti Serena Hotel, Arusha (Mon, 15 January) Activities An opportunity to acclimatize before the start of the climb the next day. You will also get a full climb briefing, meet with you head guides etc. Dinner, Bed and Breakfast

P a g e 7 Day 4: Machame Camp, Mount Kilimanjaro (Tue, 16 January) Mount Kilimanjaro Kilimanjaro's snow-capped peak is one of the most awe-inspiring sights in Africa. Straddling the Kenya/Tanzania border, the iconic Mount Kilimanjaro rises up to an impressive 5896 metres above sea level. It is one of the world's highest volcanoes, the highest mountain on the African continent, and the highest free-standing mountain on earth; making it an international destination attracting trekkers and mountaineers from around the globe. Set within the Kilimanjaro National Park, Kilimanjaro emerges from the sprawling plains of Tanzania and boasts dense tropical rainforests, glacial ice fields, moorlands, and mystical moonscapes. Take on the colossal challenge of climbing this majestic mountain, explore the lush forested foothills, soak up the breathtaking views or take a wildlife safari and spot some of Africa s diverse wildlife including: elephant, buffalo, leopard, duiker, eland, hyrax, blue monkeys and more. Overnight: Machame Camp The Machame Camp is one of the first pitstops along the Machame Route of Mount Kilimanjaro. From the Machame Gate, climbers will hike for about 7 hours through the rainforest to get to Machame Camp. They would overnight at the camp before heading through the moorland towards Shira Camp. Full Board and Activities

P a g e 8 Day 5: Shira Camp, Mount Kilimanjaro (Wed, 17 January) Mount Kilimanjaro Overnight: Shira Camp Shira Camp forms part of the second leg of the journey up Mount Kilimanjaro. There are 2 camps - Shira Camp 1 on west side and Shira Camp 2 on the east. The Shira Plateau landscape features a tropical rainforest and shrubland where a range of flora and fauna species are found. Climbers might also spot the White Naped Raven. Full Board and Activities

P a g e 9 Day 6: Barranco Camp, Mount Kilimanjaro (Thu, 18 January) Mount Kilimanjaro Overnight: Barranco Camp Barranco Camp is the third pitstop along the Machame Route climbing up Mount Kilimanjaro.
