STUDY VISIT Short Program The topic of international strategy in business is at the forefront of creative business culture. Experience an international perspective of business innovation by visiting some of Toulouse s most wellknown industries and businesses, whilst discovering the beautiful pink city and immersing yourself in la culture française! International business and culture in the pink city Program overview Learning Outcomes What will you do? The support team 1 Hosted by Toulouse s school of management you will gain exclusive access to businesses in the heart of la ville rose and have the opportunity to be part of private seminars presented by our renowned management lecturers on the theme of international trade. This program is designed to give you in depth knowledge around the topic of business and a practical perspective of business culture in a rapidly developing city. Every day we have organised lectures given by Professors around the theme of international trade. The visit has been designed to take you to see and experience projects in Toulouse while immersing yourself in the local culture and history. To experience the heart of the south-west of France guided tours of the local must-sees are planned along the way. s will either be free or organised by TSM's Student Union, an opportunity for interaction between our students and your students. You will be guided during the journey by our team from the International Relations Office. They will make sure every opportunity for learning during the Study Tour will be used. In between sessions and visits they will help discuss and connect the dots. This way no stone will be left unturned.
DAY 0 : Sunday Arrival Settling in to Toulouse Student s accommodation available in the heart of the city or stay in one of the closest hotels, free evening to explore the city. DAY 1 : Monday Morning, 9:30 am 12:30 pm Historical tour of Toulouse, pick-up at la Manufacture des Tabacs. After the tour, have lunch in one of the great restaurants of the «pink city» / have it delivered Afternoon, 2 pm 6 pm Round table with the American Chamber of Commerce : welcome reception at TSM School of Management, gathering in one of our meeting rooms (the US Consul in Toulouse and professor Hervé Penan, dean of Toulouse school of Management) - 45 min Introduction : Consul of the United States of America in Toulouse. "Transatlantic education and business development", alternatively "TTIP: the future of transatlantic trade relations" - 20 min Free evening, please have a look at our suggestions of restaurants at the end of the program. Keynote talk : Chairman American Chamber of Commerce, South West France. "Comparative analysis of investment and business attitude in the USA and in France" - 1:30 Guest speaker : Sarah Weldon, Business partnering at CEA Tech. "Living and working in France for an American" - 30 min Q&A session and panel discussion - 30 min Cultural activities, suggestions to be provided on arrival. 2
DAY 2 : Tuesday Morning, 8:30 am 12:30 pm 1st Lecture : «Toulouse High Tech Cluster» given by Eric Jolivet associate professor at TSM Toulouse. 2nd Lecture : «Is the digital empowered customer a happy consumer: an investigation about privacy issues with big data, social capital on Facebook» given by Lars Meyer Warden, professor at TSM Free lunch, suggestion, «Les Petits plats de Clémence», can be delivered on site. Afternoon, 2 pm 5 pm Company Visit: Aeroscopia, the aviation museum followed with Let s Visit Airbus (Manatour) In the Midi-Pyrénées region, nearly 80,000 people make a living from the aviation industry, the driving force behind the region s economy: manufacturers, sub-contractors, suppliers, design offices, service providers... This is why when you are in Toulouse the visit of Airbus and it s museum is a must-see. Free - Please have a look at our suggestions of restaurants at the end of the program. DAY 3 : Wednesday Morning, 8 am 1 pm Departure from Toulouse to Chateau Pech-Celeyran. At approximately 2 hour and a half drive from Toulouse, you will find the La Clape massif, near the Mediterranean sea. There we will have a guided tour of the winery buy the 5th generation of wine makers, you will discover the magnificent surroundings and taste thier wonderful wines. Powerful reds, light rosés and beautiful whites will suit every taste. The tour will be followed by a lunch in the beautiful yard of the château. Afternoon, 2 pm 6 pm On the way back to Toulouse we will stop to visit the medieval fortress of Carcassonne, a Unesco World heritage and a musst-see of the region! We will give you a guided tour of the castle and tell you all its secret... Free - Please have a look at our suggestions of restaurants at the end of the program. DAY 4 : Thursday Morning, 9:30 am 12:30 pm Take this opportunity to go to the Victor Hugo food market to discover the true Toulouse atmosphere and South-West gastronomy. Free lunch, we would suggest to eat in one of the lively restaurants that are perched on top of the market! An unforgettable moment. Afternoon, 2 pm 5 pm Visit of Toulouse Contemporary Art Museum Les abattoirs and conference Art market and managing a museum. 5
DAY 5: Friday Morning, 9:30 am 12:30 pm Lecture Governance and strategy in France Tour and lecture at the Pharmacie du jardin royal Free lunch, why not discover La Fabrique it is at the doorstep of TSM School of Management! Afternoon, 2 pm 6 pm Visit the Space city, a must-see in Toulouse, discover actual spacecrafts, train yourself like an astronaut, travel to the cosmos... http://www.cite-espace.com/en#groupes TSM s student s Union has organised a farewell event for you to exchange and share your thoughts about your stay in Toulouse. 6
Departure : from your accommodation to the airport. ADDITIONAL INFO Please note that the program is subject to change according to your flight bookings and the number of participants. 1 - Tuition fees to be determined according to the definit program. Suggestions : According to your time of arrival and departure. Markets Toulouse has wonderful markets to visit on Saturdays and Sundays. The most famous ones being Victor Hugo Market and Les Carmes Market. Restaurants Toulouse is famous for it s gastronomy.
