It is the 7 th year that the city is hosting an international workcamp, it is therefore well rooted in the city s life. It connects the volunteers, the residents and youth organisation around many activities for moments of sharing and conviviality. The inhabitants and the volunteers will focus their action on a building renovation project. Work: You will be working with a technical leader in order to build a wooden fitness path for elderly people. You will also organize many events and entertainments with the local population: language coffee, international meals, etc. Accommodation: You will stay in a collective dormitory inside the city gymnasium. Location: Chelles is located in the suburbs of Paris which is accessible by train. It is less than 20km from the heart of Paris, between town and country side. Campo: FOSSES (CONCF-092-15) Proyecto: Art camp (ART) Fechas: 08/07/15-29/07/15 Plazas Totales: 2 Plazas Libres: 2 Project: Valophis Habitat is a significant social landlord in Ile de France Region. It owns several buildings in Fosses. Concerned with the welfare of the inhabitants, the social landlord wants to improve the quality of living for the residents. For the 7th consecutive year, the social landlord will welcome a group of international volunteers who will take part in the project to decorate and beautify the main entrance hall of the residence. You will be helped by the inhabitants and you will organize many activities with them. Work: With a technical leader, you will create a mural mosaic in the main entrance hall of the building. In parallel, you will set up animations for the inhabitants and share many good times with the local population. Accommodation: Collective accommodation. Valophis Habitat will provide two flats for the volunteers. Location: Fosses is located 30km away from the North of Paris. Special requirements: / Language: English and French. Its a beautiful city crossed in the north by the Marne River. The city will host this year an international group of volunteers for a renovation and embellishment project local youth organisation premises. Work: With a technical leader, you will participate in the refreshment and the interior outfitting of local youth organisation s rooms in order to turn them into warm and welcoming spaces. Throughout the work camp you will organize many friendly times with the locals: welcome event, language coffee international meals: there will be plenty of opportunities to share, discover and to know one another s cultures. Accommodation: You will stay in a permanent accommodation, the boarding school of the international high school. Location: Noisy-le-Grand is a city located in Seine Saint Denis. Campo: FESTIVAL REVE DE FOIN (U10-15) Proyecto: Cultural-Environmental (CULT-ENVI) Fechas: 02/07/15-16/07/15 Plazas Totales: 1 Plazas Libres: 1 French speaking camp Descripción: The project: To all people, artists, musicians, dancers and people full of energy and imagination, meet us in the "Reve de foin" festival! This year again, the team will welcome international volunteers in order to assist in the smooth running of the festival. You will participate to the activities, and you will be fully integrated within the life of this young and dynamic organization. You will have the opportunity to meet the guest artists and a lot of very interesting people. Works: You will participate in the festival: Clearing, setting up and dismantling of stages, reception of the public, making cakes with inhabitants. Sharing, discovering, working and partying are at the program! Activities: You can watch all the shows and of course, your ideas are welcome. Be creative! Location: Great walks can be planned around the beautiful (and quite isolated) site of the Blanhac mills. The little town of Rosières (1300 inhabitants) is less than 10 km far from the camp and you can find there all facilities such as a bar, a bakery, a doctor You can also walk along the former railway track converted into a footpath, go to swim in the surrounding lakes all this accompanied by the volunteers ready to show you their region! Accommodation: In tents, in a place just near the farm of the association where you can also find the toilets. Special Requirements: French speaking camp! Caution! Life during a festival is often hectic and days may be long. It is a workcamp different from the others! You will have to be always available and be able to face emergency situations. Campo: SAINT YORRE (SJ20-15) Proyecto: Restoration-Environmental (RENO-ENVI) Fechas: 07/07/15-28/07/15 Plazas Totales: 2 Plazas Libres: 2 Project: The city of Saint-Yorre is known for its natural springs. The city has recently bought the park of Larbaud where one of these springs flows. Local authorities invite internationals volunteers to help them to renovate this park in order to enhance this park for local populations and transform it as a nice place to stroll in. Work: During the workcamp, you will work at the environmental clearing of the park (clearing weeds for instance) around the lac of the park and around the canals banks. Your job will also consist in restoring some constructions: walls and bridges. Each year a celebration is organised in order to give a chance to local inhabitant to meet the international volunteers who contributed to the restoration of the park, if you want you can participate in the organisation of this event. Leisure: This project allows you to discover the region (Vichy, Moulins); to visit sightseeing places and to meet local populations and the local youth. Campo: CIVRIEUX D AZERGUES (JR15/202) Proyecto: Environmental - Constuction (ENVI-CONS) Fechas: 05/07/15-25/07/15 Plazas Totales: 1 Plazas Libres: 1 WORK: Guided by a locally elected member, who is also a landscape organizer, your mission will be to create some landscape planning at the entrance of a village. The work will consist in embellishing the area: planting bushes, constructing a wall with gabions, arranging a yard with gravels and stones...you will work from 4 to 5 hours a day, in the morning, and 5 days per week. Please do not forget to bring resistant and closed shoes to work. Finally, You will also assist in the establishment and running of The twinning festival in the village! ACCOMODATION: At the heart of the village, you will live for 3 weeks in a great town house called Maison Dorel, with a garden in which tents will be set. Toilets and bathrooms will be available on site. Could you please bring your sleeping bags. Meals will be prepared by the whole group and you will be asked to take part in daily chores (cooking, dish washing, housework). NB: we will not be responsible for any people arriving before the start of the workcamp, or leaving after the end of the stay. LANGUAGE: English and French LOCATION: Ideally situated, 20km north-west of Lyon, Civrieux-d'Azergues and surroundings offer numerous possibilities in terms of walking paths and visits which will enable you to discover the old villages and vineyards of the Beaujolais. The inhabitants and associations truly want to make you discover their region and have already planned several possible trips for you: visit of Lyon, visit of the Museum of Golden Stones, July 14th celebrations, visit of the villages of the Beaujolais, visit of cellars, meeting with an organic winegrower, visit of the Musée des Confluences in Lyon, initiation to baking in a baker's, sharing meals. Campo: DARDILLY, LIMONEST, SAINT-DIDIER (JR15/216) Proyecto: Restoration renovation (RENO) Fechas: 28/06/15-18/07/15 Plazas Totales: 1 Plazas Libres: 1 WORK: Your group will be divided every day in 2 teams, in order to make some work on two different sites in the same time. Leaded by local volunteers, the teams will change every day, so that each volunteer can participate in every type of work. In Saint-Didier, by Le Mont la Roche, you will do some masonry work to renovate a wall, after the ancient "dry stone" technique; you will also help to clear up the paths. In Limonest you will work on the "Batterie des carrières" (old military battery): you may also rebuild a wall and perform some construction work on the access paths. In Dardilly your workplace will be the 19th military fort, where you will participate in some cleaning and painting work. Be aware, working on these projects may be physical and quite hard! Work around 5 hours a day, 5 days a week. Please think of bringing some strong shoes for the work! ACCOMODATION: You will be accommodated in the town of Dardilly, inside the fort. Tents will be installed in the yard of the fort. Showers, kitchen and WC available in the fort building. Tents and mattresses will be provided by Jeunesse et Reconstruction, please bring your own sleeping bag! Every volunteer will participate in the household chores and the preparation of the meals. Be aware, we cannot take care of you if you arrive before the starting date of the camp. Some youngsters from Dardilly will be involved with you in the renovation work on the fort and share with you some meals and leisure activities. Campo: MONTAUTOUR (CBF03-15) Proyecto: Restoration renovation (RENO) Fechas: 06/07/15-26/07/15 Plazas Totales: 1 Plazas Libres: 1 The project The town of Montautour has a very rich and remarkable built heritage in it city center. It is protected as Historical Monument. Restoration works started a few years ago. Today, there is still one major part of this heritage which needs to be renovated to finalise the global project. In order to help the town in fulfilling this project, the community of communes Vitré Communauté decided to support it by organising an international workcamp. The amount of work to be done is huge. One team have been started the restauration of the wall last year and this year you will continue, and maybe next year also we'll organise one more workcamp! The local partners want to use the workcamp to encourage local youth to move and commit themselves on the project. It will be the opportunity for you to meet the young people of Montautour: they will happily show you their region and their culture. Works You will work on traditional masonry. 'Parish close' is a translation of the French term 'enclos paroissial'. It refers to a wall that was build all around a parish church that we found especially in Brittany and date from the 16th and 17th centuries. Location Montautour is a lovely town located at around 60 km of Rennes, in a green landscape. It is in the depatement of Ille-et- Vilaine in Brittany. Accommodation You will be accommodated in a non-furnished building. You need to bring an air mattress and a sleeping bag.
