Hôtel Galiot de Genouillac The man who lived in this house was a general, he served the French king François 1 st and met the king of England in 1520. This king was known for having six wives. 6 7 Maison du Griffon Look at the carvings decorating the facade of this house. Which of these three faces can you not see on the house? Look out for the odd man out on other buildings during the visit. This house takes its name from a carving of a griffon, an imaginary animal, half eagle half lion. Can you see it? Espace Patrimoine Can you find the model of the Maison du Griffon you have just seen in this exhibition room? It shows the house as it was in the Middle Ages, quite different from its aspect today. Imagine the windows decorated with the carvings you identified. What differences are there between windows then and now. 9 a b Hôtel de Crussol Complete the text describing this mansion using some of these words, be careful there are some traps!
