Barchlin In the northern part of Barchlin, there is a neo-renaissance mansion built in 1893 by the owner of this land at the time, Fryderyk Ksawery Speichert. The mansion is surrounded by a park from the late 19 th century with a pond and a stately white poplar (with a circumference of 370 cm) and an oak (310 cm in circumference). A monumental four-trunk yew (230 cm in circumference) grows on the lawn in front of the mansion. Near the mansion, there are also late 19 th century farmyard buildings. Bucz In Bucz you will find Saint Barbara s church dating from 1782, a beautiful example of rural Baroque art. Among other valuable elements of the interior, pay special attention to the Baroque main altar from the mid-17 th century, two late-baroque side altars from the late 18 th century, a pulpit with elements from the 12 th century, and a Rococo baptismal font from the second half of the 18 th century. In the northwestern part of the village, there is a stately home built in the Classical style by the Petzel family in the 19 th century. The home is surrounded by a park established probably around the 17 th and 18 th centuries, with its current form defined in the 19 th century. There is a large clearing and a small oval pond with an island in the centre of the park. Kaszczor» Interior of Saint Barbara s church in Bucz In Kaszczor, there is the late-baroque Saint Adalbert s church built in 1764-1775, which replaced an earlier wooden shrine from the late 16 th century. Its Baroque and Classical interior from the second half of the 18 th century includes a main altar with a Renaissance
crucifix from the second half of the 16 th century, two side altars with paintings of the Virgin Mary and the Holy Family, as well a late-baroque pulpit with a sculpture of the Virgin Mary at the top of the canopy. Popowo Stare In the southeastern part of Popowo Stare there is a late-baroque mansion of the Szołdrscy family from 1775-1785. Some of the stuccowork on the inside is original. The mansion is surrounded by a late 19 th century park (with an area of 3.5 hectares), with many tree species, including an oak with a 640 cm circumference. Przemęt In Przemęt, the Cistercians left the stately Baroque church of St. John the Baptist, built in 1651-90. In 1742, this church was partially destroyed by the fire, and then rebuilt in 1758-1759. The Rococo main altar is from 1755. In the southern part of St. John the Baptist church, there are fragments of old monastery buildings from the 17 th century, rebuilt around 1767 and later on in the 19 th century. Another church from the Cistercian period is the late-baroque church of the Holy Apostles, St. Peter and Paul (currently the cemetery church), rebuilt in the mid-17 th century based on an earlier gothic building. The church has a Rococo interior from 1770. There is a statue of St. Joseph in front of the church. Another sculpture, the Pieta, stands in the centre of the cemetery. Several hundred yards away there is the church of St. Andrew, built at the beginning of the 19 th century.» Saint Andrew s church in Przemęt
Siekowo The key tourist attraction in Siekowo is a beautiful French renaissance stately home built in 1878-1879 for Zygmunt Czarnecki. The home is surrounded by a park of 15 hectares. In front of the building, there are many indigenous trees, mainly elms. One of these, with a circumference of 6.75 m, is one of the largest elms in the Wielkopolska region. Siekowo park is registered and protected as a monument of nature. Another place to see in the area is a post-war church, and particular its Stations of the Cross and a bas-relief of Our Lady over the main entrance.» The stately home in Siekowo Sokołowice A mansion was built in 1806 in the Classical style for Andrzej Skarżyński on a hill overlooking the area. The mansion is surrounded by a park (about 4.5 hectares), designed in mid-19 th century, with a big pond in its western part. In the first half of the 19 th century, a granary was built by the pond, with arcades at the front and a timber frame construction, on the foundations of an earlier gothic mansion. The granary is currently not in use. According to documents from 1524, a fortified manor house was situated here. The house collapsed in 1751 and was most probably rebuilt in 1760.
Wieleń In the southern part of the village, there is a late Baroque church of the Nativity of Our Lady. Built in 1731-1742 in the shape of a Latin cross by the Przemęt Cistercians, the church replaced earlier wooden places of worship. In the main altar, you will find the most valuable work of art in the church: Escape of the Sinners, a gothic sculpture of the Madonna with Infant Jesus dating back to the second half of the 15 th century. The sculpture is considered miraculous and is the destination of many pilgrimages.
