Sweeping Views Central Pier was built in 1916 as part of Victoria Dock and was once Australia s busiest port. Central Pier was re-developed by Schiavello Group and The Woolshed opened January 2010 in Shed 9 of Melbourne s old docking and shipping hub which now forms a slice of the Dockland s redevelopment as part of the thriving Central Pier entertainment precinct. The new interior courtesy of Airstream Architects showcases the raw and exposed architecture, rustic charm and waterfront views that are sure to be a perfect backdrop for your special day. The applied finishes are a mixture of natural materials such as the rust paint, brass and tin, used in an array of low-gloss, matt and rough textures. Geometry was used to create counterpoint to flat finishes, and provide a focus that pairs off against the textures. The refined interior finishes and brand new event spaces such as the Harbour View Room, Fireside Room and Fireside Mezzanine showcase refined finishes in this rustic and heritage venue.
