Return to the hotel. Day 4. - Cusco /Machu Picchu/Cusco After an early breakfast, starts a full day excursion to visit Machu Picchu the most important archaeological site in Peru. The citadel is located 113 Km (70 miles), northwest of Cusco. The tour starts with an early transfer to the railway station for the morning train ride to Aguas Calientes for about three-and-a-half hours. Then, continues with a 20 minute bus ride up to the archaeological site for a guided tour. Rediscovered by Hiram Bingham in 1911, Machu Picchu is considered an absolute masterpiece of architecture and a unique testimony of the Inca civilization. Day 7. Puno (Juliaca) / Lima After breakfast a scheduled transfer from the hotel to the airport in Juliaca to take a flight to Lima. Upon arrival, reception and transfer to the hotel. At the scheduled time a tour to the city of Lima, capital of Peru. It begins with the historic downtown, to visit important buildings like the Government Palace, the Cathedral of Lima, the Archbishop s Palace and the Municipal Palace. It also includes a visit to the Church of San Francisco and Monastery, the largest monumental complex of Colonial Art in the Americas. You will also see the stone facades and wooden balconies of the Colonial houses. Passing by Huaca Pucllana, a pre-inca building, this was most likely used as an important ceremonial and administrative center belonging to the Lima Culture. The tour ends with a visit to the modern suburbs of San Isidro, and Miraflores. San Isidro has modern apartment buildings and beautiful parks such as "El Olivar" with olive s trees brought from Spain in the 15th Century. Miraflores with its Central Park and Larcomar Shopping Center that overlooks the Pacific Ocean. Return to the hotel. Day 5.- Cusco/Puno At the scheduled time, it starts the trip to Puno by regular bus. On the way, there are several stops to visit the Andahuaylillas' Chapel and different archaeological sites like: the Racchi's temple, La Raya and Pukara. A buffet lunch is provided in the village of Sicuani. Upon arrival, reception and transfer to the selected hotel for overnight. Day 6. - Puno After breakfast, there is a tour of the National Reserve of Titicaca for a visit to the Uros floating islands. These are a group of more than 40 islands made of piles of Totora reeds. Although the Uros people on the island have intermarried with the Aymara and no pure Uros exists, they continue living as their ancestors practicing some of the Uros traditions. The islander s fish hunt birds and graze cattle on the islets. Return to the hotel. By the afternoon, there is a tour of the archaeological site of Sillustani. At a schedule time, there is a transfer to the Ica's aerodrome for the flight over the enigmatic and mysterious Nazca Lines, series of geoglyphs etched into a stony desert surface area of 85 Km (53 miles). They range in complexity from simple lines to stylized hummingbirds, spiders, monkeys, and lizards. After the flight, the tour continues with a city tour in Ica, visiting the Regional Museum, the Huacachina Oasis and a Pisco Vineyard. After enjoying a delicious lunch in Ica, transfer to the selected hotel. Day 3. - Ica/Paracas/Lima After breakfast and at a schedule time, transfer from the hotel to the Port of Paracas in private transportation. The port is located 75 Km. (46.6 miles) northwest of Ica to board the speedboat to the Ballestas islands. These islands are eroded into numerous arches and caves. These arches provide shelter for thousands of seabirds, some of which are very rare, and countless sea lions. You will see, close up, guano birds, pelicans, penguins and, if you are lucky, dolphins swimming in the bay. En route to the islands, the boat pass the bay and peninsula of Paracas, Puerto San Martín and the Candelabra, a Nasca civilization figure etched on the desert face. Day 3. - Arequipa/Colca After an early breakfast, the tour starts with a bus ride through the district of Yura, passing by Mount Chachani and then to the National Reserve of Pampa Cañahuas where groups of vicuñas, llamas, alpacas and other indigenous species can be seen. Then, continuing through Vizcachani and Pampas of Toccra where a great variety of Andean birds can be seen. The trip continues around the Chucura crater, Patapampa Pass at 4,800 o.s.l. (16,076ft) and the Andes Lookout. This Lookout has a view of the volcanos surrounding the city of Arequipa. Lunch is provided at Chivay. Check in at the hotel and later in the afternoon a visit to La Calera hot Springs. A dinner with a folkloric show is provided.
Day 4. Colca/Puno After breakfast, the trip continues with a bus ride to Cruz Del Cóndor 41 km (25.5 miles from Chivay). This is a spectacular place where it is possible to observe the condors in their skillful flight. Returning to Chivay for lunch the tour passes through the villages of Pinchillo, Maca, Achoma, Yanque and the Viewpoints of Antahuilque and Choquetico. Later on, the trip continues to the city of Puno by the same route taken on the first day with a detour in Patahuasi. From this point on, the highway is paved to the city of Puno. This is a different landscape of the Andes Mountain with forests of stones, immense lagoons with a great variety of birds and small Andean communities. After passing through the villages of Imata, Santa Lucia and Juliaca, after six hours we arrive at Puno. Transfer to the hotel selected in Puno. Day 10. - Cusco/Puerto Maldonado After breakfast a scheduled transfer from the hotel to the airport to take a flight to Puerto Maldonado. Upon arrival, reception and transfer by motor boat to the Amazonian lodge. During the trip caimans, turtles, herons and other animals can be seen. Lunch is provided after the typical welcome drink and check in at the lodge. In the afternoon, led by a naturalist guide a schedule visit to the Isla de los Monos or Monkey Island, home of a great diversity of monkeys, such as the white-bellied spider monkey, brown capuchin, tamarin, squirrel monkey, as well as a rich variety of birds. The island is located in the heart of the Madre de Dios River about five minutes from the lodge and along the way, there are marvellous landscapes with a rich diversity of flora and fauna. The tour ends after a beautiful sunset. Dinner is provided at the lodge. Day 11.- Puerto Maldonado After breakfast there is a guided walking tour through the virgin rainforest. This is a protected ecosystem sustaining a great variety of animals such as the giant otters, the caimans, the turtles, the tapirs, colourful birds, the majestic jaguar and diverse species of fish. The tour arrives at the Amazon Watch Tower that was built at the top of a very tall tree, the Shihuahuaco. From there, the majesty and beauty of the rainforest can be seen. There is also a pleasant canoe ride around the lake. Return to the lodge and lunch. In the afternoon, there is another canoe trip down the river to visit a local family living in the rainforest. Day 12. - Ica/Paracas/Lima After breakfast and at a schedule time, transfer from the hotel to the Port of Paracas in private transportation. The port is located 75 Km. (46.6 miles) northwest of Ica to board the speedboat to the Ballestas islands. These islands are eroded into numerous arches and caves. These arches provide shelter for thousands of seabirds, some of which are very rare, and countless sea lions. You will see, close up, guano birds, pelicans, penguins and, if you are lucky, dolphins swimming in the bay. En route to the islands, the boat pass the bay and peninsula of Paracas, Puerto San Martín and the Candelabra, a Nazca civilization figure etched on the desert face. At a schedule time, transfer to the bus station for the return to Lima. Upon arrival, transfer to the selected hotel. Day 13. - Lima/... After breakfast, a scheduled transfer from the hotel to the airport for the return flight to... END OF OUR SERVICES.
