Source: BCA Purchase Planning Handbook May 2008 We re proud to be developing aircraft that are inherently friendlier to the environment. Efficiency has always been a prime objective at Spectrum and we re glad that better performance also means lower emissions. During the past twenty-five years Spectrum has invested in creating a new and unique type of advanced composite: fibex. This remarkable material allows us to build exceptionally rugged aircraft that are up to 40% lighter than aluminum airplanes of similar size, resulting in substantially lower fuel consumption - and dramatically reduced emissions. The GE-Honda Aero Engines HF-120 Turbofans utilized on the Freedom are designed for sustained performance and productivity for both business jet and high-utilization applications. With time between overhaul anticipated to be 5,000 hours or greater and with no requirement for hot section inspections, the HF-120 provides heretofore unachievable operating economics. This in addition to its low rate of fuel consumption and ecologically friendly operation makes the HF-120 the logical choice to power the Spectrum Freedom. LESS OVERHAUL Freedom
Spectrum has selected the Honeywell Primus Apex avionics suite for the Freedom. The Primus Apex system is already certified and flying, and with its robust capabilities will provide both Part 91 and Part 135 operators with the capabilities, ease of operation, safety and redundancy required in today s business jet operations. Freedom will provide a robust set of capabilities in its standard configuration, and will also provide options to address special requirements. Freedom Current full-view of S-40 Instrument Panel:
