Rules Of The Examination Hall All students MUST follow the examination hall rules, or the examination will be will be failed. You then run the risk of not being allowed to sit any more examinations in the examination hall. Your Tutors will run through with you the procedures/ guidelines in this presentation Now is the time to ask questions!

Preparation... Equipment: - Black ballpoint pen x 2 - Pencil - Rubber - Ruler - Calculator (if needed). The case will be placed on floor. - All other Maths equipment - Coloured pencils (if needed) - Subject specific equipment NO EQUIPMENT WILL BE LOANED. YOU MUST HAVE YOUR OWN.

All equipment must be in a see-through pencil case of plastic bag. No other pencil cases will be allowed. You must seek permission from Mrs Garn to take a Water Bottle in the exam. This must be clear, with no wrapper on.

On the day... If you are unwell, then come in just for the examination, if at all possible. If it is not possible to sit the exam you must inform reception before 8:15 am. You will not get a mark. The earlier the school is aware, the more we can do to help.

Be Punctual! YOU MUST ARRIVE 30 MINS BEFORE THE SCHEDULED START TIME Students must arrive on time, and in CORRECT SCHOOL UNIFORM (including blazers) nothing worse then a rushing around before the exam. Give yourself time to put your bags, coats, etc in lockers. If you are wearing incorrect school uniform, or arrive too late, you will not be allowed to sit the exam. You will score zero and will complete the exam after school!

Procedure You must check on the window of the HoLs Office to check the seating plan Lining up will normally be on the Tennis Courts. When arriving at the Tennis Courts for morning exams, you must sign-in with your tutor. Check for your tutor groups sign.

If you are late, you may not be allowed to sit the exam then, and will be required to sit it after school. It is your responsibility to check your exam timetable. After your PM exams, you need to return to your tutor group to register. On Monday 3 July, you will leave site after the Physics exam. If you are waiting for a Yellow bus, you will need to go to room C8.

Possessions... NO bags, coats, jumpers, scarves, hats etc are allowed into the examination hall Reception/ HoL WILL NOT look after these for you. Find a friend s locker to put them in.

Possessions... NO PEDS (INCLUDING ipods etc) are allowed. Leave them at home if need be. If you are found to have a PED on you will get ZERO marks.

Once in the examination room... Enter IN SILENCE Find your seat and sit down Wait in silence for instructions There is to be NO communication with your peers once in the examination hall or you will be asked to leave. You will get ZERO marks.

Once in the examination room... If feeling unwell or if you need the toilet... Put your hand up and wait for an invigilator to approach you. Explain the problem. If you have any problems at all put your hand up and wait for an invigilator. Explain the problem. If you need to take a water bottle you have to speak to the examination officer first.

If you finish early... You CAN NOT leave early. Spend the time checking your paper and correcting any mistakes. DO NOT leave anything blank. Always have a go at answering the questions.

When the exam has finished... Wait to be dismissed. Leave in silence and remain in silence until you are away from the exam hall. Other students may have extra time and will still be working on their exams. Be considerate!

Other info When you have finished your exam you will be on break or going to next lesson. There is no loitering around school. There is no study leave and you are not to leave site. The canteen will only be open at normal hours. If you do have a clash or you are in an exam that runs past your lunch time, you will still get time to have your lunch.

You have all the information!

Any problems... See Mr Dixon, Mrs Mason, Tutors, or the Examinations office before any exam so that they can be resolved.

Finally... Prepare well for the exam. Use the Sam Learning/revision sites at home to help you revise. Ask your teachers if there is anything that you do not understand before the exam. Get a good night s sleep before the exam and ensure that you eat good food to help your brain focus! Remember that you cannot lose marks in an exam...only gain them. Focus on the grade that you want to achieve, and then go and achieve it!
