Welcome Our New Municipal Judge! In December, Town Council appointed Ronald Carson as the new Municipal Judge for the Fraser/Winter Park Combined Municipal Court. Carson has over 20 years of combined experience being a municipal court judge in three mountain communities and understands the needs of a mountain community like ours. We d also like to give a special thank you to our previous judge, Georgia Noriyuki, who served our community for over 10 years! Town Hall Selling "The Drop" Bags Fun Fact: You can buy The Drop trash bags at Winter Park Town Hall! The Drop is Fraser s new pay-as-you-throw trash and recycling center, which means the less trash you throw away the more you save! PAYT bags need to be purchased ahead of time and can be bought at Safeway and the Chamber of Commerce along with Town Hall. Learn More Final "Imagine Winter Park" Plan After an extensive public engagement process, the final Imagine Winter Park Town Plan is almost complete! Town Council adopted the plan during the Dec. 18th meeting and the Planning Commission will give it a final stamp of approval on Jan. 8. This document will guide the town when creating policy and new projects over the next 10 years. Take a Ride on the Gondola The Gondola, the newest addition to the Winter Park Resort, is now open for all to enjoy! Be sure to check out this state-ofthe-art gondola soon! Play Outside! Now is a great time to enjoy our worldclass recreation! The sledding hill at Hideaway Park is open and the Town has groomed Leland Creek Trail and Alpine Trail. Don't miss the great conditions! Capital Projects Updates Throughout 2018 the Town was hard at work on major improvements. Two major projects completed recently are: Lion's Gate Drive Electrical underground work complete Several crossing features added General road improvements made Ski Idlewild Road Curb, gutter and sidewalk installation Road widening Additional parking Reminder: Download the New Lift App Have you downloaded the new Lift Rider app yet? Now Hiring: Police Officers The Fraser Winter Park Police Department is currently hiring for new police officers. This job includes general law enforcement, protecting life and property and enforcing laws and ordinances. Work involves routine patrol work, and responding to emergency calls, citizen complaints and alarms. The department is a progressive, community-minded police agency and is looking forward to finding officers that bring great energy and professionalism to the growing organization. See below for some decisions and announcements made during the last Town Council meeting on Tuesday, December 18. A special event permit was approved for the New Year's Eve Festival. Several contracts and agreements were approved including a Liquor License transfer for Hernandos Pizza, a contract with Slate Communications and a Development Improvements Agreement with Arrow at Winter Park. Council adopted the final Imagine Winter Park Town Plan prior to it being approved by the Planning Commission on Jan. 8. Council discussed the request to rename Clover Lane to Kinney Way; no action was taken but an ordinance will be brought forward during the Jan. 8 meeting. A Utility Easement Vacation for 206 Arapahoe Road was approved with one condition.
