DAY 1 (Sunday) D * Itinerary Adults and Couples Cambodia Retreat 2019 (Note: Included meals B = Breakfast, L = Lunch, D = Dinner) After settling at the 5-star Royal Crown Hotel and Spa or the Allianz Angkor Boutique Villa (across the road) from Siem Reap International Airport, the group will meet each other for a briefing and a fabulous degustation Khmer BBQ dinner down the road in the French Provincial Quarter of the city. DAY 2 (Monday) BL* The group will be transported by minibus to the World Heritage area of Angkor Wat. After obtaining a photo pass to enter this unique location, There will be a tour of the main temple and grounds with time to explore on your own. An introduction to Qigong beside one of the lakes that look over Angkor Wat. Perhaps a splash in the hotel pool on return, before exploring the Pub Street restaurants and clubs. 3
DAY 3 (Tuesday) BL* Have your camera ready for this day with so many breathtaking scenes within temple walls. Enjoy a wonderful refreshing lunch at a roadside restaurant and out to the Floating Village and a boat ride out on the lake. A short wander to the local Night Markets might be worth it, or take a rest at the hotel through the evening. DAY 4 (Wednesday) BD* After two days touring, this will be a day of free time to rest and relax. Perhaps discover the Old Market area of the city. A one hour tour of the city will be available by Tuk Tuk as well as a Khmer foot or back massage at the Royal Crown Spa. These will need to be booked at the daily briefings on the rooftop at sunset at Happy Hour. DAY 5 (Thursday) BL* This is the day with adventure when we are picked for to go on zip wires over the jungle canopy. After a safety briefing and getting fitted out, we will be guided by an 4
instructor to take us as high as 40 metres climbing and flying. Lunch is supplied as part of the tour and we return early enough to have a swim or a massage. That evening will be a trip just out of town to the Phare Circus, where you will witness amazing acts from local performers. There will be time to have a snack at the Circus café before being seated. DAY 6 (Friday) BL* After a late night, it will be a late start to tour the National Museum and enjoy a group lunch at a nearby Khmer Restaurant. This will be followed by a trip to the other unique Temples in the district. In the evening we will walk to the Aspara Theatre for a traditional Khmer dinner and show DAY 7 (Saturday) BD* Following a fresh buffet breakfast at the hotel, there will be a half day tour of the Artisans Angkor Silk Farm and Craft workshops. You will witness local talent making the items on sale at the Artisans shop where you can buy refined stone / silver products and silk clothing to take home. 5
On the way back there will be a visit to the War Museum and Silver shop. This will be followed by a light lunch at a city café. You will have time today to explore the Old Market and perhaps gather some gifts for loved ones and friends. A final group dinner will be held at the Café Indochine a surprise of local and Asian smorgasbord of delicacies in candle light perched above the vintage car at the main entrance! DAY 8 (Sunday) B After a magical week, it will be time to lap up the hotel and city surrounds before checking out and heading back to the airport to fly home or venture on your own to another location and further your holiday Note: * denotes that the meal is included in the price, excluding all beverages. There will be a tour of many smaller temples and grounds including a treasure hunt and an introduction to water colour art by our tour artist, who will conduct classes each day at the locations. Lunch will be offered near the temple as well as an introduction to Qigong inside one of the temple grounds. 7
DAY 3 (Tuesday) BL* Have your camera ready for this day with so many breathtaking scenes out to the Kampong Klang Floating Village and a refreshing boat ride out on the lake. Lunch will be provided on the way back at a resort. A short wander to the local Night Markets might be worth it, or take a rest at the hotel through the evening. DAY 4 (Wednesday) BD* After two days touring, this will be a day of free time to rest and relax. Perhaps discover the Old Market area of the city. A one-hour tour of the city will be available by Tuk Tuk as well as a Khmer foot or back massage at the Royal Crown Spa. DAY 5 (Thursday) BL* After being picked up early at the hotel, the group will be escorted to the jungle for a safety briefing, and then after being rigged up, we will be off on zip lines and rope bridges over the forest canopy. After a traditional lunch, then we will be off to Art Box for some fun with photography. That evening will be a trip just out of town to the Phare Circus, where you will witness amazing acts from local performers. There will be time to have dinner at the Circus café before being seated. Please note: CHOICE OF DATES: There are two separate retreats on the dates advertised that could take place depending on the numbers. Numbers will be strictly limited to 12 persons per tour. You can state your preference for which tour dates, however there is no guarantee that both tours will proceed. Dates and side trips will be confirmed before 31/03/2019. AGE LIMITS: The retreats are designed for persons aged 10 years and older. If you wish to have a younger person to join you on the retreat then this is possible. You will need to share a room and ensure that the child is accompanied at all times. There is no upper age limit, however due to the nature of the trip, all participants must be in good health and able to walk and climb steps independently. VISA REQUIREMENTS: Siem Reap, Cambodia can be visited by a single-entry tourist visa, for Australians, which can be paid upon arriving for US$30 with a passport sized photo. It is a 30-day visa if you wish to extend your stay in Cambodia. IMMUNIZATIONS: Although there is a low risk of transmission in Siem Reap, it is recommended that you are vaccinated, prior to the trip, for Typhoid, Hepatitis A/B, and Tetanus. It is also suggested that adults take Malaria prevention antibiotics prior to flying and then one month after returning. You should bring 80% DEET protection. WAIVER & INSURANCE: All participants in the retreat must sign and return the Waiver of Responsibility form and take out Comprehensive Travel Insurance for the duration of the retreat. Please ensure that the insurance covers medical and accident expenses including medical transportation home, if required. Some credit cards offer insurance if the trip is paid for by credit card. Please note the 2% surcharge for credit card transactions. PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS: Each day on the retreat there will be a short morning meditation session during the day tour. The group briefing in the hotel prior to the evening program around 5pm to 6pm. The group briefing will include debriefing the day s events, some mindfulness activities and preparatory work for the coming days. Meditation & art therapy sessions will occur whilst on day tours according to group needs.
