Experience the elegance of the MS Primadonna, with spacious decks, spa facilities, restaurant, bar, atrium and much more, on a cycling holiday without hotel changes! Itinerary Day to Day Day 1: Individual arrival at Passau Arrive at fenced in car park until 4 pm or arrival at Passau main station by 4:45 pm (e.g. arrival with train ICE 27). Bus transfer from car park or from main station to the ship available for an additional charge. Welcome snacks are offered on board from 4 pm; welcome dinner and meet the crew around 8 pm. Cast off! Day 2: Schlögen Linz 55 km Distribution of bicycle rentals at Schlögen Bend in the morning. Individual cycling tour through the uninhabited narrow valley near Kaiserau to Ottensheim and further on to Linz (European Capital of Culture 2009). Day 3: Tulln Vienna 36 or 52 km Individual visit museum of Egon Schiele and area of former garden exhibition in Tulln. Followed by a cycle tour from Tulln ( city of flowers ), with a wonderful view on the foothills of the Viennese Wood (Wiener Wald), past Klosterneuburg (monastery Austrian Escorial) to Vienna. Individual sightseeing in Vienna or rather city tour by bike (95 % on cycle tracks / description available on board). After dinner, starts at 8:30 hours a guided city tour by bus Vienna by night. Day 4: Cycling tour Komárom Esztergom 56 km On beautiful car free bank paths partly directly at the Danube from Komárom on the left river bank through small, dreamy cities via Moča to Esztergom. Via the Gisela bridge to Štúrovo, directly on the opposite site of Esztergom. Ride through the Danube knee. Day 5: Sightseeing in Budapest / bike tour to Margarete s Island 22 km Sightseeing tour of Budapest from the ship (3 hours). In the afternoon on 100% car free bike paths into the pedestrian zone to stroll around and shop and further on to the Margarete s island, the wonderful recreation zone in the middle of the city. Bike tour on the approximately 8 km car free island. Back to the ship, maybe with a stop at the foot of the castle district.
Day 6: Sightseeing in Bratislava & cycling tour Bratislava Devin Bratislava 33 km Guided sightseeing tour Bratislava from the ship (1 hour). Along the Danube bike path to Devin, the national memorial of Slovakia with a great distance view. On the car free bike path through floodplains and via the cycle bridge (extraordinary, impressive construction) to Schloss Hof and back. Day 7: Krems Pöchlarn 48 km Along the Danube bike path from Krems (UNESCO) via Dürnstein (castle, old city) through the wine villages of Weißenkirchen and Spitz. Via Melk to Pöchlarn. Day 8: Disembarkation / Passau Arrival in Passau at around 8 am After breakfast (at approximately 9 am) bus transfer to the main train station or to the car parking lot (if booked).
Route Technical Characteristics: Tour Profile: Leisurely. The daily bike tours are all over flat, without any significant inclines. In Austria you cycle 80% on paved cycle paths, 20 % on side roads with less traffic and through villages. In Slovakia and Hungary the cycle paths are 60%, remaining parts are hard dirt roads and side roads. The cruise ship MS Primadonna The luxurious cruise liner, the only one on the Danube to fly the Austrian flag, was built in Germany in 1998 and underwent a general overhaul in 2009. The spacious facilities the hotel hall is 60 meters long is a lively place to meet people and socialise and includes the panoramic restaurant Primo Gusto, the panoramic bar Primavera, the Danube arena Prima Vista and the theatre Primo Teatro. There is air conditioning on the entire ship (and are individually adjustable in the cabins). The second largest Danube cruise ship is 113.5 meters long and 17.4 meters wide. The architecture makes a stay on the MS Primadonna a first class experience, with the interesting double hull design (catamaran), the 9 meter high bow vitrification, as well as a glass floor at the reception, which draws one s attention to the underwater world. There are a Jacuzzi, sun chairs and cosy seating arrangements on the outdoor deck. The spa area offers a large, indoor Jacuzzi, a Kneipp water treading basin and a sauna. Massages are available by advance reservation. Cabins: All 80 Cabins on the MS Primadonna are outside cabins with individually adjustable air conditioning, with shower and toilet, hair dryer, television, telephone, safe, mini-bar and spacious wardrobes. The main deck cabins are approx. 11,5m2 and are equipped with a small, unopenable porthole (cabins on main deck ASTERN: approx. 9.5 m² - bunk bed ideal for single use). The spacious cabins on the upper and promenade decks are approx. 16.5 m2 and are equipped with a balcony with bench seat and writing desk.
