WELCOME and INFORMATION NOTE We warmly welcome you to the ADB Sub-Regional Conference Going Beyond the Meter: Inclusive Energy Solutions in South Asia. We hope the Conference will be a unique opportunity to learn about promising initiatives and case studies showcasing how to improve accessibility, quality of supply, and affordability of energy infrastructure and services for poor consumers, women and disadvantaged groups. We are delighted that you are able to join us and we look forward to your active participation in the Sub-Regional Conference. General Provisions: PASSPORTS AND VISA INFORMATION 1. Participants need to ensure that their passports remain valid for at least 6 months after their travel to India. Please check your passports are valid through 14 October 2016. All nationalities are required to secure visas except for participants from Bhutan, Nepal and the Maldives. 2. Bhutanese, Nepalese and Maldivian nationals entering by land must have some Photo Identity Papers as proof of their nationality. But in case of entry by air directly from Bhutan/Nepal or from a country other than PRC, they must have a passport. No visa is required. However, they must have visa if they are traveling from China. 3. Expenses related to visa processing are covered under the miscellaneous travel expenses allowance to be provided by ADB (see section on Subsistence and Miscellaneous Travel Allowance). For further Indian VISA detail you can visit: http://passportindia.gov.in/apponlineproject/online/visaservices ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi has two terminals Terminal 3 (International Airport) and Terminal 1 D (Domestic Airport). All international flights arrive at Terminal 3 and immigration check is done for all passengers, Indians or foreigners, both at the time of arrival and departure. All passengers arriving at New Delhi International Airport are required to fill in an 'Arrival Card' for immigration and customs clearance, and a Departure Card when departing from India. The passengers proceed to Baggage Claim post immigration check.

All International carriers as well as Indian carriers like Air India, Jet Airways, and Vistara Airlines arrive and depart at Terminal 3. Other Indian carriers like Indigo, Spice Jet & Go Air depart from Terminal 1D. Participants who are arriving via international airlines at Terminal 3 and have connecting flights to Jaipur on Indigo, Spice Jet & Go Air have to go to Terminal 1D to catch their connecting flights to Jaipur. Terminal 3 departure overview- http://www.newdelhiairport.in/t3-interactivemap.html Terminal 1D departure overview- http://www.newdelhiairport.in/domestic.aspx International Airport Jaipur- In case of direct arrival from another country, international passengers go through immigration check at Jaipur Airport. Participants proceed to Baggage Claim post immigration check and come out from the arrival gate. Airport Transfers to/from Hotel- The participants will be received by an ADB Conference representative at the Jaipur Airport. Please look for the ADB Placard at the Arrival gate. There will be an ADB Conference Welcome Desk inside the airport where the conference representative will help with hotel transfers. Upon arrival at hotel, another ADB Conference representative will assist with the participants hotel check-in process. ADB-funded participants will be provided with an allowance for the airport transfers to be given on Day 2 of the Conference (see section on "Subsistence and Miscellaneous Travel Allowance"). All participants (i.e., ADB-funded, ADB staff and Consultants) who will avail of the airport transfers to/from Hotel should pay the hotel directly upon check out. In case the participant misses the group transfer to their hotel, the ADB Conference representative at the Airport will help him/her transfer to the hotel by local airport taxi which will cost about INR 800-1600 ($12-$24) depending on the type of vehicle. ADB-funded participants, who will take the taxi, are advised to get a receipt for reimbursement. The Jai Mahal Palace and ITC Rajputana Hotels are about 14 km distance from the Jaipur Airport which will take about 33 minutes by bus or taxi. Participants are advised to leave their hotel 3 hours before their departure to ensure sufficient time for travel and flight checkin at the airport. For any unexpected changes in your flight schedules, please inform Mr. Jerry Colasito at the ADB Secretariat (jcolasito@adb.org) and your respective Hotel as soon as possible. HOTEL ACCOMODATIONS Participants are provided single occupancy hotel accommodations with complimentary buffet breakfast in two different locations. Participants who are staying at the ITC Rajputana (5 minutes to Jai Mahal Palace) will be provided free daily transportation to/from Conference venue.

SUBSISTENCE AND MISCELLANEOUS TRAVEL ALLOWANCE ADB will provide a modest subsistence allowance and a fixed lump sum miscellaneous travel allowance to cover the cost of airport transfers from the city of origin, visa fees (if applicable), terminal fees, and other necessary travel expenses.

To facilitate the disbursement of your subsistence and miscellaneous travel allowances, please submit (in the envelope enclosed in the Conference packet) your original boarding pass/es, copy of e-ticket/itinerary and official receipts of travel-related expenses, at pre-registration or on Day 1 of the Conference. Distribution of allowances will be done on Day 2 of the Conference during free time (i.e., before the start of the sessions, during lunch, coffee/tea breaks, and after the last session) at the ADB Secretariat in Room 238 located near the Hendley Ballroom (Conference venue). EVENT INFORMATION The Sub-regional Conference will be held in the Hendley Ballroom at the Jai Mahal Palace. Morning and afternoon breaks with snacks and refreshments will be served in the patio area outside the Hendley Ballroom. Complimentary Lunch will be served at the Marble Arch all day dining restaurant. Participants are expected to attend and participate in all sessions. Please come on time and sign the daily attendance sheets upon entering the venue. Please turn off your mobile phones or put them on silent mode while the conference is in session. All reading materials, presentations and discussions will be in English. PRE-REGISTRATION: (17:30 19:00 on 10 April Main Lobby, Jai Mahal Palace) REGISTRATION: (08:00 -- 09:00 AM on 11 April Hendley Ballroom Entrance) Participants are encouraged to pre-register for the Conference on Sunday, 10 April between 17:30 -- 19:00 at the ADB Hospitality Desk set up in the Main Lobby of the Jai Mahal Palace. Participant registration will continue on Monday, 11 April from 8:00 9:00 AM at the Secretariat Desk in front of the Hendley Ballroom. The Inaugural Session will promptly start at 9:00 AM. Participants will be given their Conference Booklet and Name Tag during registration. For security reasons, participants should wear their nametags visibly during the Sub-regional Conference and related social functions. MEETING WITH MODERATORS: (18:00 --18:30 on 10 April Main Lobby, Jai Mahal Palace) A meeting will be held with Conference moderators and Reihana Mohideen on 10 April from 18:00 18:30 in the Main Lobby to provide guidance for their respective roles on the program.

WELCOME DINNER: (18:30-20:30 on 11 April) All participants, speakers and guests are invited to a Special Dinner Event on Monday, 11 April from 18:30 to 20:30 at the Pool Side Lawns of the Jai Mahal Palace. Bus transportation will be provided to take participants to ITC Rajputana leaving Jai Mahal Palace after the dinner at 20:45. MEETING DOCUMENTS/TECHNICAL REFERENCES: In line with ADB s efforts to reduce the amount of paper used in conjunction with its regional meetings, please note that all conference related materials including technical references, presentations, participants directory, videos and photos will be put on the ADB Subregional Conference website at the end of the Conference for downloading at your convenience. ADB, ENERGIA and select partner organizations will display and distribute few publications relevant to the Sub-regional Conference themes. Any documents that the participants would like to share for distribution at the Sub-regional Conference should be delivered to the ADB Secretariat at the Jai Mahal Palace in advance. Prior notification of such a request would be greatly appreciated. TECHNOLOGY EXHIBITION: An exhibition of innovative technologies will be held at the patio area outside the Hendley Ballroom (Conference venue). OTHER INFORMATION INTERNET SERVICES: Upon check-in, both hotels will provide guests with their own ID and passwords to access free in-room WiFi internet services. Non-resident guests at Jai Mahal will be provided a conference ID and password to access hotel WIFI upon request. LOCAL ATTRACTIONS Hawa Mahal: The Hawa Mahal, which adjoins the famous City Palace wall, was built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh and has now become one of the major landmarks of Jaipur. The palace is shaped like a pyramid and is a five-storied building, with number of small windows and screens, with arched roofs. City Palace: Located in the heart of the old city of Jaipur, occupying about one-seventh of the old city area, the place offers a perfect amalgamation of Mughal and Rajasthani cultures. The marvel is divided into a series of courtyards, gardens and buildings and numerous additions that were made by Jai Singh's successors adds further grace to the existing glory of the Palace, where the son of the last Maharaja and his family still lives. Amber Fort: The city of Amber, which was once the capital of the Kachhawaha Rajputs, traces its history over such a wide span of centuries that there are many tales and fables attached to the construction of this majestic Fort city. The colossal grandeur of Amber Fort is fascinating evidence of the grandeur of ancient times. It lies peacefully, just 11 kms away from the capital of Rajasthan, Jaipur. Jaigarh Fort: Also known as the Fort of Victory, the colossal Jaigarh Fort is the best of the three forts overlooking the city of Jaipur.Jaigarh Fort in Jaipur is built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh in the year 1726, to bolster the defence of the area, Jaigarh Fort is the best example of a full-fledged citadel. No palaces or other delicate structures have been built inside the simple looking fort by the successors. The architecture of the magnificent fort makes clear Sawai Jai Singh's intentions of using the fort purely as a military structure.

NaharGarh Fort: The Fort stands at the top of rugged point of the Aravalis and offers a spectacular view of the City. Keeping this fact in mind, the fort was made to serve as a means of supporting the security of Amer. The term "Nahargarh" refers to "the Abode of Tigers", so it is also known as the Tiger Fort. SHOPPING Jaipur and nearby- Built by Sawai Jai Singh, the city of Jaipur is amongst the first of India s planned cities. The ancient heart of the Pink City still beats in its fairy tale palaces; rugged fortresses perched on barren hills and broad avenues. Jaipur has a timeless appeal in its colorful bazaars that delights for its Rajasthan handlooms and trinkets. Beautifully laid out gardens and parks, attractive monuments and marvelous heritage hotels, once the residence of Maharajas, are worth admiration that makes a trip to the pink city a memorable one. Johari Bazaar: Jaipur is home to India s largest and the most fabulous collection of jewellery of all types precious stones and gems, semi-precious and jewellery with a limited warranty. And Johari Bazaar one of the earliest Jaipur shopping places where you can buy all these. The plethora of choices and amazing designs will leave you spellbound, especially the wonderful handmade, delicate jewellery. Tripolia Bazaar: Tripolia Bazaar is known for its lac jewellery and the beautiful varieties of bangles is the best shopping area is Jaipur. Shop for the textiles in Tripolia Bazaar. Flaunt the popular Bandini tie and dye fabrics with rich embroideries are also available here. Also, you can buy designer carpets, brass ware and other traditional wares. Chandpol Bazaar: Chandpol Bazaar, one of the traditional shopping markets in Jaipur, is where the creativity comes alive; where you can come across handicrafts, carvings made out of marble and other hand-looms. At the Khazanewalon ka Rasta, you can shop for popular pieces like the traditional and flamboyant shoes, pretty handicrafts, perfect sculptures made of wood and stones, carpets, turbans or anything that you absolutely love! Kishanpol Bazaar: Kishanpol is best known for textile goods which can be bought at reasonable prices. It is also one of the best places to visit in Jaipur for shopping, to get your loved ones some wooden souvenirs; as Kishanpol Bazaar is home to many skilled artists renowned for their unique wooden carvings. Nehru Bazaar: Although you can find some beautiful clothes and textiles in Nehru Bazaar, the main attraction of Nehru Bazaar are the traditional joothis, which looks vibrant with multi-colored design. All of them look tempting, but ensure to bargain well before you buy a handful!

Bapu Bazaar: The best place to visit in Jaipur for shopping, Bapu Bazaar is a one stop destination for all the Jaipuri items as you could almost buy anything for a reasonable price. This bazaar stands out for the moderate prices of items like textiles and Joothis. Here you can enjoy the novelty of street shopping in Jaipur. Plus, the bazaar lies in a pretty location and you could get to witness the pink side of the city! Mirza Ismail Road (MI. Road): Pottery in Jaipur is taken too seriously -And you re sure to fall in love with the pottery works the moment your gaze falls on them! Visit MI the most vibrant of the shopping places in Jaipur road to shop for pottery work, which dates back to the days of the Rajput kings who used the pots extensively to beautify their palaces. So head there to add some beautiful collections to your home. Also, look for brass statues and wooden items. RESTAURANTS 1. 1135AD- Breathtakingly ostentatious, the 1135AD restaurant in Jaipur s Amer Fort harks back to the heyday of royalty dining. 2. Peshawari- Peshawri, specializing in North-West Frontier cuisine, is among ITC Rajputana's most popular eating joints. 3. Marble Arch- The Marble Arch Restaurant exudes a classic ambiance with the perfect blend of conventional and modern dishes at Hotel Jai Mahal Palace 4.
