October, 2008. Next month, new cranes will arrive to the Container Terminal on 16th of November, 6 new marco kind cranes and on the 26th another 2 more same cranes, as well as one super post panama dock crane. The new cranes will improve the container operation and will also increase the productivity of the container terminal, as well as assure efficient cargo container handling. The outstanding increase of the container operations in the port, with the arrival of the new shipping lines, represents an opportunity for the Container Terminal to improve the terminal facilities. 2 Vessel Movement The increase in the vessel movement, is an constant growth factor in the port. Last month, as the next side Exhibit shows, there is a 45% growth compared to the last month in the same period. The port keeps registering growths in the vessel movement. Container Movement One of the most important commercial sectors in the port is, definitely, the container handling. This month, the growth effect is again on of the distinctive factor in the port, TEU: Twenty-foot equivalent unit. with a reported 75% of growth compared to the last month in the same period. The bid of the TEC II (Container Specialized Terminal II), is a project that will increase the cargo handling in the port. Lázaro Cárdenas Port: Sailing to Excellence. 2

3 Lázaro Cárdenas Port bids this year a Specialized Vehicle Terminal in the Mexican Port System. Because of the main characteristics of the terminal, the Specialized Vehicle Terminal will have a great capacity for vehicle handling. On September 12th, the port published in the DOF (National Gazette) the requirements for the specialized vehicle terminal: construction, operation and exploitation, that will include value added services. According to the published tender, the terminal will have 56 has, a water front area for the construction of two berth positions. The facilities will allow the terminal to storage over 700,000 units per year. Specialized Vehicle Terminal in the Port: Unique in the Mexican Port System The construction of the new terminal will be developed in three stages and the employment projection its 750 direct jobs and 2,500 indirect jobs. The new terminal will have a logistic and specialized service for vehicles operators as: damage restore, equipment and accessories installation, consolidation, inspection and car wash service. At the end of next year, this facility will start operations in this Mexican Pacific Port. Lázaro Cárdenas Port: Sailing to Excellence. 3

4 October 9 th. Hueneme Port visited Lázaro Cárdenas as requested by the Board of Directors of the CA port. Jesús Armando Palos Nájera, Port Director of the LC Port, as well as Jessi Ramírez, Hueneme Port Commissioner, Pete Wallace, Operations Manager and Anthony Taormina, Port Director of the Hueneme Port, were in a meeting in order to express and exchange growth strategies for the port. Hueneme Port visited Lázaro Cárdenas An outstanding matter of the visit, was the great interest for the future signing of an agreement between both ports. Port authorities of the LC Port, also participate in this important meeting in order to solve general questions of the CA Port. The port of Hueneme is the only deep water harbor between Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay area and is the U.S. Port of Entry for California's central coast region. It serves International businesses and ocean carriers from the Pacific Rim and Europe. The Port of Hueneme ranks among the top seaports in California for general cargo throughput. This huge vessel is about to arrive into the port. The big vessel, has a Danish flag and a 6,600 TEUS capacity. According to Maersk Line México, this enormous vessel usually covers the Kwangyang, Korea route and its final destination is the Balboa Port in Panamá, South America.
