From metropolis city Berlin with extended forests in the North you cycle first along Oder-Havel canal via Orianenburg and Eberswalde to Schwedt. The silent and unique beautifulness of Oder landscape is accompanying you into Polish Stettin with precious palace. Your route leads you along unique coast via Usedom to the biggest island in Germany, to Rügen with famous cliffs. Your aim is the old city of Stralsund. What can be more beautiful as to enjoy the landscape on sun deck and to learn during your bike tours a lot about land and people, culture and nature? Discover the diversified flora and fauna of this unique river landscape, baroque palaces, gothic and north German architecture.
MS Princess The comfortable MS PRINCESS has a bright equipped restaurant with comfortable saloon. The cabins are all outside cabins with a size of 10.5 m², incl. shower and toilet, hairdryer, phone, TV, safe and air conditioning. One of the two beds are able to arrange to a sofa during the day. All decks as well as the sun deck are reachable by stair lift.
1. day Berlin-Spandau arrival Embarkation until 4 p.m. Berlin is worth it. Maybe you have time for a stroll over Kurfürstendamm, through Nicolai quarter at Spree Island or through Brandenburger Tor. Berlin offers many possibilities. Boarding from 4 pm at Berlin Tegel. 2. day Spandau - Eberswalde, 38 km The bike path leads towards North to Oranienburg. Well-worth seeing is the baroque palace with park, the museum and the Orangery. You go on board again. Cruise to Eberswalde. In the heart of the city, in Finow canal, one of the oldest lock of the Elbe is located. It is a technical memorial since 1978. 3. day Eberswalde - Schwedt, 32-64 km First along Treidel bike path at Finow canal through beautiful landscape, small forests and hills towards Niederfinow and on to Hohensaaten. In Hohensaaten you go on board again or you cycle all the way long to Schwedt (+32 km). 4. day Schwedt - Stettin, 30 km You cross river Oder and cycle in Poland today. You cycle along side roads, country roads, forest tracks and dreamy small villages to Mescherin. Afterwards cruise to Stettin, the green big town at Oder estuary. There is one of the biggest harbors at Baltic Sea. Well-worth seeing is the reconstructed palace which is located in the old city. 5. day Cruise to Wolgast Today you spend the whole day on board. After the last narrow passage you reach Stettiner Haff. After crossing that you reach Wolgast, the entrée to island Usedom. Well-worth seeing is the medieval old city with town hall and church. 6. day Usedom/Rügen, 15 km Today you cycle via Zecherin and Karlshagen-Hafen to Peenemünde (Tip: historic technical museum). In Peenemünde you go on board again. At 6 pm cruise to Lauterbach which is in the southeast of island Rügen. 7. day Usedom/Rügen Stralsund, 48 km Today your tour leads you via Putbus, Garz, Schoritzer Wiek, Poseritz, Gustow with famous church and Rügendamm to Stralsund, where you meet your boat again. This city has a great past. You will see extraordinary places of interest during your stroll through the old city, which is located on a small island. 8. day Stralsund departure After breakfast: Disembarkation and end of your journey. Getting to Berlin You find the mooring area of MS Princess in Berlin Tegel at "Tegler See"/Greenwichpromenade. S-Bahn station Berlin Tegel (S 25) and U-Bahn Station Alt-Tegel (U6) is about 1 km away from the pier. Parking facilities in Berlin For example: Car park "Hallen am Borsigturm" (1.600 parking spaces), open round o'clock, daily parking fee 10,- approximately, 800 m to the mooring area. No reservation possible. Return joureny by train to Berlin is possible. Getting to Stralsund The Pier in Stralsund is located at Hansakai, berth 8. Boarding starts at 16:00 o'clock. Parking facilities in Stralsund Several car parks close to the mooring area, for example "Parkhaus am Ozeaneum", for 2 days approximately 28,-, each further day 6,-. No reservation possible. Return journey by train to Stralsund possible. Condition of cycle paths Usually you cycle on car-free roads, country roads with little traffic and graveld bike paths, but sometimes on sandy paths through the woods and short sections along a federal road as well. In the majority of cases the routes are flat however a few steep rises and descents have to be managed. Available rental bikes Tourer bike: 7-speed gear shift bike with hand and pedal brake and a pannier by KTM Electric bikes: Swiss Flyer with freewheel (limited number available - an early booking is recommended). Subject to modification Sailing list and program are subject to changes. If the boat cannot cruise due to low or high water or bad weather conditions, the skipper has the right to change the route for your own security. This is no reason for a cancellation at no charge. The tour can be cycled also in opposite direction.
