The location of this project is 2 miles east from the Dana Hill Road intersection with Straits Road, between the resident s house number #386 and #470 Straits Road. It is an existing culvert crossing at the bottom of the hill. We appreciate your patience and cooperation during this project. If you have questions please call the Selectmen s Office at 744-3559 or the Public Works Director at 744-8025. Updates will also be posted on the town website www.new-hampton.nh.us. ************************************ HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!! Tree Lighting on the Common Sunday, December 9, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. Tree Lighting on the Common this year will be on Dec. 9th at 5:00pm right at the big tree on the Village Common, at the intersection of Old Bristol Road and Main Street. There will be caroling and a possible visit from Santa. It is a great community event. Everyone is invited. Thank you so much for helping out during this holiday season!! ************************ New Hampton Oral History Project Historical Society to capture New Hampton's history New Hampton Historical Society Oral History Project STORIES FROM A SMALL GORE OF LAND The New Hampshire Humanities Council has awarded the New Hampton Historical Society a grant for training and consultation in a yearlong project to capture and record the oral histories of town residents. Jo Radner, Ph.D., former professor of American history at American University in Washington, D.C. will serve as the consultant for the project. The New Hampton Historical Society wants to capture their town s history through its stories, traditions and culture from the voices of the people who lived that history. By looking back we can better understand the roots our town s history. Over the next several months board members Bob Curry, Gordon DuBois, Pat and Manfred Hoertdoerfer will be facilitating discussions with individuals who are willing to share their stories about life in their community. People's stories will be recorded on video tape and archived at the Gordon-Nash Library in New Hampton.
