DAY 1 : AUCKLAND Overnight: Standard Room, Auckland City Hotel Kia Ora! New Zealand Welcomes You! After landing in Auckland International Airport, Pick up your rental car. Drive to your accommodation (30min). Refresh from your long journey. You can stroll around the city. Queen Street is just a stroll away. Enjoy the Auckland nightscape from the iconic Sky Tower viewing deck.

DAY 2: AUCKLAND Overnight: Standard Room, Auckland City Hotel After breakfast, you can start exploring the city. You can visit the Mount Eden, an extinct volcanic crater, followed by the visit to One Tree Hill, an extinct volcanic cone. Viaduct Harbour is a nice place for a relaxing walk and lunch. Take the 10-minutes Ferry to Devonport, one of the nicest suburbs of Auckland. Enjoy an informative guided tour of Devonport. Take the Ferry back to the City.

DAY 3: AUCKLAND - TAURANGA Overnight: Superior King Room, Trinity Wharf, Tauranga After breakfast, start your 2 ½ hours drive to Bay of Plenty. Tauranga is the largest city in the Bay of Plenty and one of the fastest growing population centres in the country. Downtown Tauranga has several historically significant areas to view during a scenic walk around the area. The Strand waterfront area is modern and always buzzing, and is home to a number of cafés, restaurants, pubs and nightclubs. You can visit the near by Mount Maunganui, a relaxed beach town that occupies a peninsula at the southern end of Tauranga Harbour. The peninsula is actually a huge sandbar, with a sheltered bay on the inner harbour side and a magnificent surf beach on the ocean side. Overnight at Trinity Wharf

DAY 4 : TAURANGA Overnight: Superior King Room, Trinity Wharf, Tauranga After a restful night and hearty breakfast, start your day by driving to Whakatane (1 ¼ hrs drive). Visit the Mataatua Marai for an authentic Maori Experience. Learn the amazing story of Mataatua Wharenui, before being welcomed on to the marae and into the sacred house by way of the ancient ritual of pōwhiri. Marvel at the intricacy of the carved representations of the great chiefs of Ngāti Awa, before two of the most famous traditions of our tribe are brought to life before your eyes in Hiko: Legends Carved in Light. Explore the Whakatane river walk and the nearby Ohape beach. In the evening, get ready for an unique experience, Evening Glowworm Kayak Tour. It is a fully guided kayak tour, with our professional kayaking guides leading your group and providing a fascinating & informative brief about the life cycle and peculiarities of the New Zealand fungus gnat (glow worms).

DAY 5: TAURANGA MATAMATA - ROTORUA Overnight: Standard Room, Holiday Inn, Rotorua Check in and refresh. You can go for a walk around the lakeside. Just 5 minutes from Downtown Rotorua, Redwood Forest awaits you. There are an array of walkways that takes you through native plants and exotic trees. From Tauranga, it is an hour drive to the world famous Hobbiton movie set from The Lord of The Rings and The Hobbit film trilogies in a 2 hour guided tour. After that start your 1 hour drive to Rotorua, renowned for its Geothermal activity and Maori Culture.

DAY 6: ROTORUA - TAUPO Overnight: One bedroom Poolside Unit, Anchorage Resort, Taupo After breakfast, make way to the Rotorua Canopy tour. During your 3 hour Canopy Tour, you will be guided through a native New Zealand forest that is so breathtakingly beautiful on a 1.2 kilometre network of 6 ziplines, swingbridges and treetop platforms up to 22 metres high in the Canopy of the ancient native forest. After lunch, start your drive to Taupo. On the way, visit Wai- O-Tapu thermal wonderland to explore the spectacular and most colourful volcanic area. Visit the mud pools to experience the unique character and sounds of erupting mud. You can have coffee break at the Café. Proceed to your accommodation in Taupo. Mt Victoria Lookout

DAY 7 : TAUPO Overnight: One bedroom Poolside Unit, Anchorage Resort, Taupo At 10 am please be there at Aratiatia Rapids. Here, the Waikato River falls 28 metres in the space of one kilometre. The surging rapids have been harnessed to produce environmentally sustainable hydroelectric power. To view the Aratiatia Rapids gradually filling up, make sure you arrive a few minutes before the dam is due to release. There are three lookout points on the high rock bluffs that overlook the river. Visit Huka Falls to witness the phenomenon of natural hydro power - more than 220, 000 litres of water per second. You can get up close and witness the display of the water blasting at the foot bridge right at the top of the falls. Optionally, you can do a Scenic Plane ride today, on a float plane taking off from the Lake. It flies over one of the active volcano ranges of New Zealand Mt. Ruapehu.

DAY 8 & 9 : GLAMPING - WAITUNA Overnight: Ridge Top Farm Ridge Top Farm is a unique opportunity to combine the tranquillity of glamping with a true North Island 'Kiwi farm' experience. The 1500 acre sheep and beef farm has stunning panoramic views encompassing Kapiti Island, Mt Egmont and Mt Ruapehu - the perfect place to soak up the central North Island scenery. The country-themed campsite is nestled into a sheltered spot on the scenic farm, right next to a pretty wetland with regenerating native bush. A luxury tent and hut, a camp kitchen and bathroom, and a dedicated campfire area, create a social and relaxed space for a farm stay experience. At an additional cost, you can try your hand at clay bird shooting and a shearing demonstration. If you want to explore, visit the nearby Feilding (30min drive). Feilding is awarded The Most Beautiful Town for 15 years in a row. It is a cute little town to have a lazy stroll.

DAY 10:WAITUNA- WELLINGTON Overnight: Terrace Room, Grand Chancellor James Cook, Wellington Te Papa Today you are going to explore the Capital city Wellington. The drive from Waituna to Wellington is 3 hours. Visit Te Papa, renowned National Museum. It is unlike any other museum. The interactive exhibits like the earth-quake hut will blow your mind. Visit Mt Victoria for a birds eye view of the city. You can watch the ferries sail across the sea and planes land and take off in the airport. Make your way by the unique funicular Cable Car, to the Botanical gardens which covers over 26 hectares of unique landscape, exotic forests and native bushes. Te Papa

DAY 11:WELLINGTON MARTINBOROUGH - WELLINGTON Overnight: Terrace Room, Grand Chancellor James Cook, Wellington Te Papa Today you are going to Martinborough, premium wine growing region of New Zealand. It is an hour and half drive from Wellington. Visit 4 boutique Martinborough vineyards, enjoy wine tastings throughout the day, a delightful gourmet lunch in the charming wine village, sweet delights and later, relax with a delicious cheese platter and coffee. Relax and let the local driver guide you in our modern coach on this all inclusive wine tour. If time allows, browse the charming village craft shops and galleries. Drive back to Wellington. Spend the evening at Oriental Parade. Te Papa

DAY 12: WELLINGTON PICTON - NELSON Overnight: Queen Standard Studio, Bella Vista, Nelson Te Papa After an early breakfast, start your journey to Picton by ferry. It is a 3 ½ hours journey through Cook Strait. If you are lucky, you will be able to see the dolphins. Bay after bay will enchant you as the ferry manoeuvres through Queen Charlotte Sound. You can have lunch at Picton. From Picton, it is 2 hours drive to the Sunshine city, Nelson. Check in and refresh. Pop around the corner to Morrison Square or along Bridge Street for those high street and designer must-haves. Check out the stunning collection of local, national and international artwork at the Suter Art Gallery, or walk up the steps at the top end of Trafalgar St to the Christ Church Cathedral, where you ll enjoy the lovely gardens and cathedral that towers over the town. DAY 13: ABEL TASMAN NATIONAL PARK Overnight: Queen Standard Studio, Bella Vista, Nelson After breakfast, drive to Kaiteriteri to board the Vista Cruise. You will be dropped at Anchorage and walk either to Bark Bay or Awaroa. You can explore the golden sand beaches and lush native forests and panoramic coastal vistas along the Abel Tasman Coast Track. You can opt to kayak as well. In the evening, drive back to Nelson and refresh.

DAY 14: NELSON - PUNAKAIKI Overnight: Standard Sea View Queen Studio, Punakaiki Resort, Punakaiki After breakfast, start your scenic drive to Punakaiki ( 4 hours). You can take a break at Murchison. The museum at Murchison will tell you all about the earth quake that shook the region in 1929. Proceed to Westport and take a break. From there, it is an hour drive to Punakaiki. Check in and refresh. Enjoy the legendary sunset of West Coast.

DAY 15: PUNAKAIKI FRANZ JOSEF Overnight: Queen Studio, Bella Vista, Franz Josef After breakfast, visit the the famous Pancake Rocks and Blowholes. They were formed 30 million years ago from minute fragments of dead marine creatures and plants landed on the seabed about 2 km below the surface. Immense water pressure caused the fragments to solidify in hard and soft layers. Gradually seismic action lifted the limestone above the seabed. Mildly acidic rain, wind and seawater sculpted the bizarre shapes. In Barrytown (10 min drive), enjoy a horse wagon tour at low tide at the beach, listening to stories about miners of the old. Your host will make tea in billy can heated by drift-wood fire! At Hokitika, visit the beautiful Hokitika Gorge and enjoy the exhilarating treetop adventure among rainforest giant trees at West Coast Tree Top walk. Proceed to Franz Josef. Check in and refresh.

DAY 16: FRANZ JOSEF Overnight: Scenic Hotel, Franz Josef You explore the Glacier country. Franz Josef is one of the two most dynamic glaciers in the world. The terminal face of Franz Josef Glacier is just 300 metres above sea level! You can spend the whole day gazing at the bluish white ice river. Walk with a professional guide and soak in one of the glacier pools or, OPTIONALLY you can take up a Helicopter ride up the glacier, (for cost, please see the section Optional Add-ons ).

DAY 17: FRANZ JOSEF WANAKA - QUEENSTOWN Overnight: Standard Room, Heartland Hotel, Queenstown After an early breakfast, start your scenic drive to Queenstown the scenic Haast Pass. There are so many scenic spots and therefore plenty of photo opportunities. At Wanaka, visit Puzzling World, a world of wonderful weirdness. Proceed to Queenstown. It is one hour drive from Wanaka. Check in at your accommodation and refresh. You can go for a walk at the lakeside.

DAY 18: QUEENSTOWN Overnight: Standard Room, Heartland Hotel, Queenstown After breakfast, you can visit the Queenstown garden, known as the crown jewels of Queenstown reserves which is home to exotic and native plants. Get ready for an adventure safari packed with breathtaking scenery, thrilling 4WD action whilst discovering LOTR (Lord of the Rings) filming locations. Visit the filming locations of Minas Tirith, Misty Mountains, the Pillars of the Kings (Argonath), Gladden Fields, the Ford of Bruinen and more. Travel an historic gold mining road, following the Arrow River, stop for a refreshing morning or afternoon tea and the opportunity to try your hand at gold panning. Take in the spectacular panoramic views over the Wakatipu Basin. In the evening, take a Gondola up the hill for a magnificent 180-degree view of the City. Enjoy your dinner at the café on top taking in the night lights reflecting on Lake Wakatipu.

DAY 19: QUEENSTOWN- MILFORD SOUND - QUEENSTOWN Overnight: Standard Room, Heartland Hotel, Queenstown After an early breakfast, start your 4 hours drive to one of the most beautiful places on the earth, Milford Sound. It was famously proclaimed by English poet Rudyard Kipling as the 8 th Wonder of the World! Jump on board the scenic cruise that have purpose-built observation lounges and large decks. This cruise will take you through sheer cliffs, massive waterfalls and glaciers. Enjoy your gourmet lunch on board. After the cruise, start your 4 hours drive back to Queenstown. Sorry, there is no way of getting around this return trip, since the road ends at Milford Sound. Mt Victoria Lookout

DAY 20: DEPARTURE Te Papa After breakfast, check out. Drive to Airport and drop the car. Fly to Auckland/Christchurch to catch your flight to home Te Papa

RECOMMENDED OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES Te Papa Mt Ruapehu Vista, Taupo (Day 7) Taupo s Floatplane s Mt Ruapehu scenic flight departs from the Taupo bay tracking south to fly over Turangi, Mt Pihanga, Lake Rotoaira, the Blue and Emerald Lakes, the Tama Lakes to the summit of Mt Ruapehu. A circuit of the summit allows you to view into the Crater Lake and the ski fields on the slopes of Mt Ruapehu. Starting our journey north again we travel onto Mt Ngauruhoe ( Mt Doom ) to view into the centre of this classic volcano, then over Mt Tongariro viewing the Red crater, Blue lake, old lava flows and the most recently active Te Mari Crater before we begin our descent over Lake Taupo to land along the lakefront.
