Star rating:**** Rebuilt in 1667,and a favourite haunt of Dr. Samuel Johnson. His house is now a museum in nearby Gough Square. Your 2 nd chance to try Sam Smiths stout, best stout you ll ever drink. Neal s Yard Dairy cheese display (6 Park st.). The London Dungeon 28 Tooley street. Hays Galleria where the Tea Clippers used to dock in the 1850 s. HMS Belfast a cruiser which served at the Normandy landings. Head east on THAMES PATH. Continue onto BANKSIDE after 0.72km you will reach The Anchor, where Samual Pepys watched the fire of London, or carry on to the better pub, the Mudlark. Old Kent road. 21 st pub The George 40 Tower Bridge road SE1 4TR. Star rating:** 1.2ml WALK time 23mins. Stay on the THAMES PATH, and continue east. Turn sharp left at MONTAGUE CLOSE. Keep close to the river. Enter HAYS GALLERIA on your right. Exit onto TOOLEY ST. Cross TOOLEY ST. and pass under the bridge on WESTON ST. Stay on WESTON ST. Visit London Glassblowing. www.londonglassblowing.co.uk and carry on to ROTHSAY ST. Turn R at TOWER BRIDGE ROAD. OR stay on the THAMES PATH to TOWER BRIDGE and catch a bus south to the George pub. Fenchurch street station. 22 nd pub The Fen, Fenchurch station, EC3M 4AJ closed on Sundays. Alternative pub The Liberty Bounds EC3N 4AA Star rating:*** 1.4miles WALK time 30 mins Take a bus opposite pub north over Tower Bridge, or walk north over TOWER BRIDGE. A100 This is a very dull road, so bus is probably best. Get off by the Tower. The Tower of London was built by William the Conquerer for protection against Londoners. Bear left towards TOWER HILL TERRACE A3211. Cross over the road at the traffic lights and turn L towards TOWER HILL TUBE STATION. Cross TRINITY SQUARE. Call in at The Liberty Bounds pub. Turn sharp left at MUSCOVY ST. Turn right at SEETHING LANE. Samual Pepys lived here, and is buried at the end of the street in the CHURCH OF ST. OLAF. Turn right at CRUTCHED FRIARS. Turn left at FRENCH ORDINARY COURT and continue onto ST. KATHERINE S ROW. Turn L onto FENCHURCH ST, and 1 st L to the station. The Fen pub is inside the station, but may be closed.

Alternative pub The Aldgate Exchange. Go back onto FENCHURCH ST and turn right. Carry on to ALDGATE HIGH ST. and WHITECHAPEL HIGH ST. 0.8km to the White Hart on the left. Liverpool street Station. 24 th pub Hamilton Hall, Liverpool St Station. EC2M 7PY Star rating:**** Wetherspoons pub The Hamilton Hall used to be the ballroom of the Great Eastern hotel, which explains the décor. Nearby places of interest: 18 Folgate street, a house that looks, sounds and smells as it would have centuries ago. You can book a tour. Cross COMMERCIAL ST. and enter PETTICOAT LANE MARKET. Turn right at BELL LANE. Turn left at COBB STREET. Bear left into HARROW PLACE. Turn right at WHITE KENNET STREET. Continue into CUTLER STREET and DEVONSHIRE SQUARE. At the roundabout take the 1 st exit onto DEVONSHIRE ROW. Turn left at BISHOPSGATE A10, and right at LIVERPOOL STREET. Star rating:***** If this pub has closed, as rumour has it, an alternative is The Eagle, mentioned in the rhyme Pop goes the Weasel. WALK time 25 mins. 1.5ml BUS 205. Good news, the 205 bus goes to Paddington station via the rest of the hashopoly route, so if you are getting short of time, or tired, this is your bus. Go back to the previous station entrance. Head south on OLD BROAD STREET. Turn right on NEW BROAD STREET. Turn right at BLOMFIELD STREET. Turn left at FINSBURY CIRCUS. Turn right at MOORGATE A501. Turn left at CHISWELL STREET B100. Turn right at BUNHILL ROW B144. Daniel Defoe and William Blake are buried here. go across OLD ST. into BATH STREET. 0.82km Turn left at CITY ROAD A501, (The Eagle will be in front of you), and right at SHEPHERDESS WALK B144.after 23m Turn left at STURT STREET. Walk down to end of Sturt street the Wenlock Arms is on the corner. Pentonville road. 26 th pub The Old Red Lion, High St. Islington, EC1V 4NJ Star rating:**** Take a drink in this traditional London pub, and watch a show upstairs in their tiny theatre.
