INNER HARBOR NEWS August 2016 page 2. Rear Commodore, Dan Bright Vice Commodore Jamie Schmitt Wow, now there have been some hot days! Not very comfortable to work in if you don't work in the air conditioning, but I will deal with it. Great weather for canal fest hopefully we get a lot of support. Just an advance notice for our Commodore s Ball honoring our Commodore, Captain Ken Burgio, is coming up on October 22nd. Before that, we will be having a clean up and paint the dining room date coming as well. patched up this year, so some personal responsibility from club members and their guests would be appreciated. If you see anything that needs attention please call 912-7226. The Vice, Jamie Schmitt It appears that we may need an additional reminder to treat our clubhouse as it were your own home. To whoever punched a hole in in the hall way wall in the boater s bathrooms, you embarrassed our club. We had reciprocating guests staying at the club and using the facilities. I will look in to who was in and out and during that time period by what can be seen on neighbor s camera. This is the second hole in the wall that needs to be NEWS FROM THE REAR Commodore Daniel Bright I have two words to say - CANAL FEST. As I write this, IHYC's largest fund-raiser of the year is in full swing. I would like to thank all the members who helped make this years edition a success - please stay posted next month for the final results. The boat lift project will begin this month, all the rigging has been delivered and set to be installed. A small savings in the budget was achieved allowing the purchase of new boat slings. Along with the new repairs the lift will be cleaned and repainted.as well - please see the bulletin board for the schedule of work - this project will require club assistance to complete. I will be looking for cleaners, painters and anybody who has experience in rigging. Membership - We will be voting on a new potential member. Michael Capen (son of Fran and Linda Capen) has requested to become a part of the IHYC's family - his application will be voted on during the general members meeting. Mike's application is currently hanging on the bulletin board. Finally, I would like to thank those members who have helped maintain the club grounds - from watering the flowers, trimming the shrubs, picking up trash and keeping the pavilion in order. I will be looking for help in the next month. to clean the building and grounds of all cobwebs and overgrowth - please see the bulletin board for details. Respectfully, R/C Dan Bright
