The subject was spotted by two other hikers, heading for his vehicle. The SAR team was stood down, pending further RCMP request. LAND 1 14 1 14 Sunshine Coast SAR members responded to rescue a stranded male on Gambier Island. The family located and rescued the stranded male. The SAR team was stood down by the RCMP. LAND 1 8 1 8 North Shore Rescue responded to rescue a lost hiker in the Crown Mountain area. The subject walked out on his own and the SAR team was stood down by the RCMP. LAND 2 10 2 10 North Shore Rescue members responded to locate two lost hikers on Mount Seymour. The SAR team reached the subjects and walked them out to vehicle. VIR LAND 1 154 1 154 Arrowsmith, Nanaimo, Campbell River, Ladysmith, Alberni Valley Rescue, Comox Valley SAR and Cowichan Valley SAR responded to locate a despondent 70 year old male who wandered away from his residence in Schira Drive area of Nanoose Bay. The SAR team was stood down, pending further investigation. 1 4 1 4 RCM Shuswap members responded to rescue a 14 year old who was in a cliff diving accident. The subject was transferred to BCAS with a broken wrist. LAND 1 6 1 6 North Shore Rescue responded to rescue a 20-year-old female with an ankle injury, on Crown mountain. The subject was long lined to the SAR base and BCAS transported her to the hospital for treatment. LAND 1 23 1 23 Mission SAR members responded to rescue a stranded hangglider, in a tree at Cascade Falls. The subject was rescued, safely via HETS. 1 9 1 9 Lake Country Fire Rescue and COSAR members responded to report of an abandoned boat and a subject in the water. The subject was located by fire rescue teams, in good condition. LAND 2 5 2 5 North shore Rescue members responded to locate two hikers lost on the Howe Sound Crest Trail. The SAR team assisted the two orient themselves on the trail and they walked out of the area safely. 2 9 2 9 Vernon SAR members responded to locate two missing paddle boarders on Kalamalka Lake. Vernon SAR was stood down as the paddle boarders returned home safely, themselves. 1 4 1 4 Kelowna Marine Rescue responded to a report of a boating accident near Kelowna. The subjects' boat ran aground,1 subject was rescued from the water and a second subject ran/swam off. The rest of the group was in custody of the RCMP. 1 6 1 6 Hope SAR members responded to locate a 24 year old lost female in the Lake of the Woods area, just north of Hope. The subject was located in good condition. 1 6 1 6 Penticton Fire members responded to a locate a missing tuber in the Penticton channel. The RCMP located the subject, in good condition prior to Fire deploying their boat. LAND 1 13 1 13 Squamish SAR members responded to locate a missing hiker who wandered away from a hiking partner on the trails along Garabaldi Lake. The subject was escorted out of the area and was reunited with her boyfriend. 1 4 1 4 Kelowna Fire Rescue members responded to locate a man in distress in the Okanagan Lake. The subject was located in good condition. 2 4 2 4 Kelowna Fire Rescue - Marine Unit members responded to rescue 2 occupants of a capsized catamaran, clinging to the overturned craft on Okanagan Lake near Raymor Bay. Kelowna Fire Rescue was stood down as the subjects self rescued 4 4 RCMSAR - Shuswap Rescue 1 members responded to a report of a sinking house boat of Shuswap Lake near Canoe Point. The boat was not sinking and was towed to the Sicamous Channel Marina. LAND 1 21 1 21 Squamish SAR members responded to rescue an injured hiker who sustained an ankle injury while hiking the Chief in Squamish. The subject was stretchered down to the end of the trail. where she was handed off to BCAS for treatment. 2 4 2 4 Lake Country Marine Rescue members responded to rescue occupants of a sailboat in distress across from 14810 Pelmewash parkway. The SAR team rescued two subjects and secured the boat. 1 10 1 10 Ridge Meadows SAR members responded to a boater and his dog in distress due to engine failure on the boat at Pitt Lake. The subject was rescued and brought back to the shore to safely. 24 20:50 LAND 1 13 1 13 Chilliwack SAR members responded to locate a

Both subjects were flown to the hospital for treatment. LAND 1 6 1 6 Lions Bay SAR responded to rescue a male hiker with an injured knee on the Howe Sound Trail. The SAR team was stood down when the subject was rescued by other people on the trail. LAND 1 9 1 9 Alberni Valley Rescue members responded to rescue a female with a dislocated knee, near the Snow Creek Campground. The hiker self rescued and walked herself out to BC Ambulance. The SAR team was stood down on scene. LAND 1 2 1 2 Penticton SAR members responded to a female hiker who suffered a suspected heart attack and shoulder injury at Cathedral Lake Lodge Resort. The subject was handed over to BC ambulance and transported to the hospital. 9 9 Mission SAR members responded to rescue possible occupants of a submerged car in the Fraser River. The SAR team responded and assisted in removing the vehicle from the water. No occupants were found inside and RCMP stood the SAR team down. LAND 1 18 1 18 Squamish SAR members responded to rescue a female with an ankle injury on the way to Sky Pilot Peak. The subject was located and sustained a lower leg fracture. The subject was flown out using HETS and handed over to BCAS for transport to hospital. LAND 1 5 1 5 Juan De Fuca SAR responded to rescue an elderly male, with a head injury on Botanical Beach. The SAR team was stood down when the man was accessed by the fire department. LAND 1 17 1 7 members of Whistler SAR responded to rescue an injured mountain biker on the Lord of Squirrels Trail. The SAR team used a helicopter to transport the subject off the mountain for hand-over to BCAS. VIR LAND 1 17 1 17 Comox Valley SAR responded to rescue an injured hiker from Diver Lake in Strathcona Park. The SAR team used a helicopter to fly the injured subject out of the area for hand-over to BCAS. NEA LAND 1 18 1 18 Prince George SAR members responded to search for a 14 year old boy missing from Camp Trapping. The subject was located on a nearby road in good condition by a SAR member. 1 4 1 4 Shuswap Rescue 1 members responded to rescue an individual that had fallen from a boat and is injured near Neilson Beach, outside of Sicamous. The subject was transported to Sicamous hospital for treatment. LAND 1 7 1 1 NSR SAR and 6 Lions Bay SAR members responded to rescue a subject on Brunswick Mountain who sustained a bee sting and had his eyes swollen shut. The subject was passed to BCAS in stable position.

The subject was packaged and carried out of the area to the roadway for hand-over to BCAS for transport. LAND 1 6 1 6 Whistler SAR members responded to rescue a mountain biker with an ankle injury on Kashmir Trail. The subject was passed to BCAS in stable position. VIR LAND 1 15 1 15 members of Juan De Fuca SAR responded to rescue an injured hiker in East Sooke Park. The subject was passed to BCAS, in stable position. LAND 1 20 1 20 Ridge Meadows SAR responded to locate an injured hiker from Golden Ears Park, near Maple Ridge. The subject was rescued via helicopter. LAND 1 6 1 6 Whistler SAR members responded to locate an injured mountain biker from the Lord of the Squirrels trail near Whistler. The subject was passed to BCAS, in stable position. NWE LAND 1 1 1 1 member of Terrace SAR responded to rescue an injured horse rider in a remote area near Dease Lake. The SAR team was stood down when a private helicopter with a paramedic on board was able to land and flew the subject out to a hospital in Dease Lake. LAND 3 5 3 5 Lions Bay SAR responded to locate missing people near "The Lions". Three subjects were rescued, unharmed, in the early morning the next day. SEA LAND 3 On Aug 25, 3 Revelstoke SAR members responded to search for a missing person from a search onpened on 03 Aug 2017 near Trout Lake in Nakusp with negative results. WEEKLY INCIDENT REPORT Aug 21-27 2017 BODY RECOVERY On Aug. 26, Ridge Meadows SAR responded to assist RCMP with a body recovery in Maple Ridge. DANGEROUS GOODS (CODE 2) On 22 August 2017, a drilling fluid spill occurred during frack operations in Coquitlam during their pipeline construction. Most of the material was flushed and recovered by a vacuum truck when a second plug of sediment blocked the storm drain, causing more sediment to move downstream. Vacuum trucks performed the clean up on scene and the incident was raised to a Code 2 for notification purposes. INTERFACE FIRE On 23 Aug 2017 an incident was opened for the East Kootenay Regional District in response to a forest fire (N11844) in the Mount Robinson area that has crossed the US/Canada border. On 23 Aug 2017 an incident was opened for Big White Fire Rescue within the Kootenay Boundary Regional District in response to a condominium fire at Big White Mountain Resort that had the possibility of creating an interface fire. On 24 Aug 2017 an incident was opened for the Central Okanagan Regional District (CORD) who activated their EOC after a grass fire on Phil Pott Road which resulted in Hwy 33 being closed and a nearby community being evacuated. FLOOD On 24 Aug 2017 an incident was generated for CSRD to activate their EOC to a level 1 in response to a potential GLOF (Glacial Lake Outburst Flood) from Vowel Glacier near Bugaboo Park. MISCELLANEOUS On 22 August Prince George SAR responded to an RCMP request to rescue a dog stuck on Teapot Mountain. The dog was located, deceased and was delivered to the family. On 24 Aug 2017 the City of Kamloops opened an incident in response to their losing their potable water supply. - 1 -
