PAGE 2 Vill age News and Notes HOLDEN TIMES Message from the Mayor: Spring is here. I look forward to the warm days, pretty flowers and all the sights and sounds that come with the new season. Just look around and you ll see that our community is alive and well with many new events taking place. Plans are ongoing for Farmer s Day, June 11, and the 2nd annual Holden Jr. Cattlemen Achievers Show, July 1-3. As many of you know, Holden has been around for over a century and has seen its fair share of ups and downs. Our village in many ways is quite typical of small town Alberta, and the challenges we re facing are shared by many throughout the province. However our spirit remains strong. Thank you to all who came out to our recent strategic planning session at the hall, and put forth their ideas on how to make Holden better. As your public servants I can assure you that council and administration are busy working behind the scenes, delivering services, balancing budgets, and trying their best to ensure our village is here for another century. Watch for upcoming events, and announcements from the village. With warm regards, Carl Marsh, Mayor, Village of Holden Members of the public are welcome to attend any Council meeting. If a person or a delegation wishes to address Council on a specific issue, please contact the Village Office by 12:00 noon on Thursday, the week before the meeting (agenda deadline) with your request in writing. Include enough information to allow Council & administration to prepare for an informed discussion.
