WELCOME TO WALES a Wales a Mother nature shaped Wales as a country full of visual drama and splendour. Clinging to the western edge of England, Wales is green and ruggedly beautiful, with mountainous inland scenery reaching out to a magnificent coastline. Then human beings added a million stories of druids, castles and conflict; of industry and innovation. This is a country steeped in history with a vibrant 21 st century culture; and there s nowhere else in the world quite like it. With all its traditional market towns and country villages, small seaside resorts, quiet roads, and rolling landscapes filled with sheep farms, forests, and lakes, Wales will offer you peace and greenness, away from the constant buzz of the city. Snowdon is Wales highest mountain at 3,560 ft and is very accessible to hike. At it s foot lies one of the many stunning national parks of the country Snowdonia National Park. Whilst a small Kingdom, it is a powerhouse of industry - home to state-of-the-art aerospace and steel industries. It is also a leader in the life science sector and a number of its universities rank as some of the best research led institutions in the UK.
WELCOME TO CARDIFF a Location a Wales is one of the four countries forming the United Kingdom. Situated on the West side of the island of Great Britain, it is bordered by England to its east, the Irish Sea to its north and west, and the Bristol Channel to its south. The country is especially known for its rugged coastline, mountainous national parks, distinctive language and Celtic culture. Cardiff, the capital city, is located on the South coast of Wales, just across the water from Bristol. It is only 3 hours away from London and is very accessible by car, coach or train. The Welsh capital also has its own international airport, located just 30 minutes away from the centre of the town. The capital is a versatile and vibrant city that offers a startling range of unique attractions, top class entertainment and quality shopping with a difference all within walking distance. Innovative architecture sits alongside historic buildings and Cardiff Bay offers entertainment for everyone.
**** LUXURY HOTEL a Hotel & Country Club a This 14 th century manor is set amid 400 acres of picturesque parkland in the rolling hills of the South Wales Wye Valley. The hotel has 2 golf courses, one of them a top UK golfing destination, which has played host to a succession of international golf tournaments. All 148 rooms Deluxe, Courtyard and Superior offer luxury bedding, ensuite bathrooms and come with tea/coffee making facilities, satellite TV and a seating area. DAY 1 - ARRIVAL After arriving at Heathrow Airport, a luxury coach will be waiting to take guests to their selected hotel in Wales. The journey time is approximately 3 hours but a light refreshment stop will be made midway for at a beautiful 18 th century stately home. Buscot Park is the family home of Lord Faringdon and it houses a collection of unique pictures, furniture, ceramics and objets d'art that guests will be able to enjoy following their refreshments. Guests can also stretch their legs in the beautiful gardens. Following hotel check-in, an informal lunch will be served. The afternoon will be dedicated to a typical yet traditional activity: duck herding. Inspired by sheep herding and we know Wales has many of those this fun outdoor entertainment will have guests herding ducks and geese around an obstacle course. But watch out! This is more difficult than it seems! The day will conclude with dinner being taken in a local traditional Welsh Inn.
DAY 2 - WHERE HISTORY COMES ALIVE The second day of this Welsh experience will take guests further back in History. Enter Chepstow Castle and prepare to be amazed. The castle, almost 1,000 years old, was built by the Normans and is the oldest surviving post-roman stone fortification in Britain. To get a feeling of it s past splendour, a falconry display and a History re-enactment can take place within the walls of the castle. Next stop: Tintern Abbey, an area of outstanding beauty complemented by this impressive beauty in stone, dating from 1131. Tintern was only the second Cistercian foundation in Britain, and the first in Wales. A choice of leisure activities are available for the afternoon: canoeing on the picturesque Wye River; a round of golf or perhaps a trip to Cardiff for some shopping or a visit to the striking Cardiff Castle. The Brecon Beacons is one of only ten dark sky reserves in the UK and it has some of the highest quality dark skies. Following dinner, how about a star gazing evening?!
DAY 3 - CELTIC ADVENTURE Who said you couldn t do a safari in Wales? Certainly not us! On the last day in this Celtic country, we propose a full day adventure of incredible scenery, 4x4 s and challenging routes. Brecon Beacons National Park, one of the UK s most loved national parks is filled with miles of mountainous countryside interspersed with lush pastures, vast reservoirs and ancient forests. This day puts guests in the driving seat of specially prepared 4x4 vehicles, where they can discover the Welsh Green Lanes from a new angle. Guests learn new driving skills as they are expertly guided on challenging rough and rocky off road terrain on a gripping journey with spectacular lake and mountain backdrops. After such an amazing exploration, guests head back to the hotel, in time to prepare for the historic Gala evening.
GALA EVENING a Caldicot Castle Founded by the Normans and dating back to the 13 th century, Caldicot Castle is one of the most authentic venues to host a Medieval Banquet. The Banquet Hall, situated inside the original Great Gatehouse is the perfect setting for a traditional evening. The tranquil gardens can also provide an inspiring location for cocktails. a a Caerphilly Castle a Caerphilly Castle is the second largest castle in Britain. It has a magnificent moat and an impressive 14 th century Great Hall. This stunning location is the perfect place to hold a very Celtic Gala Evening, where a traditional Welsh choir can accompany some exquisite Welsh cuisine.
